wow this is pretty interesting. but i can say from past to present experience that the ford expedition and linclon navigator only share the same motor. the expendition is not equiped with air ride, nor is it equiped with thx speakers, the tranny is total different my moms v8 navi only runs on 6 cyliners while the v8 expedition runs on all 8. and the mazda ford thing is ture to a certian exctent. the mazda tribute and ford excape are the only 2 twins in the famile. like the mazda3 and ford focus are totaly different, except the 2.0l motor

But like I've said in the past - see ya later GMC.... it was nice while it lasted.

I would love to see GMC get the ax. It's a huge waste of resources for a company that sells exactly the same products as other GM brands with nothing remarkably different in the lineup. At least Hummer sells something unique, if ostentatious.

I would love to know how many white collar staff are in the GMC division. Every single one of them have a counterpart at Chevrolet doing the exact same job. Total waste of money!

What does GM have that isn't twined? CTS? Anything else?

I'm fine with making twins, but don't make them compete with each other: Saturn/Pontiac/Chevy; Buick/Caddy; Chevy/GMC; Caddy trucks. And the crossovers are a joke. I've heard that they are going to give Caddy one and call it an escalade.

Even though it looks unique it is just a tahoe 2500 with different sheet metal. Shares the powertrain, just like the H3 is just a colorado/canyon.

Also everyone, notice no one included Isuzu. It has a trailblazer/envoy model and a colorado/canyon twin

Not that I'd ever want anything by GMC, but don't forget that GMC does have a pretty substantial heavy duty and commercial duty line up. Granted they aren't anything that can't just have a Chevrolet badge slapped on it, but GMC does have a reputation within the building/construction/contracting industry.

Well the CTS, doesn't technically have a twin but the platform that it's on is shared with some other cars in other markets...

Yeah, working at an auto shop it's easy to tell when two cars are the same with a few different body panels.

For those of you wondering about the Toyota and GM connection... They've been collaberating for years.

Geo was a joint venture between GM and Toyota and also Suzuki. The tracker was a suzuki with GM badges. And if you look closely at the Geo logo you'll see the Chevy bowtie in the center.

And Dodge and Mitsubishi have worked together for a long time now.

The engine in the Caliber SRT-4 is almost the same one in the EVO. And I'd also venture to guess the chassis is similar if not shared.

The Aura isn't that big of a seller. But the other two certainly are.
