I just don't know how someone can call the top tier of the lower selling truck line generic.

i don't see anything special... it's like putting another slice of cheese on a cheeseburger and describing it as a new cheeseburger.... bigger news is that they got rid of the 6.0 in the petrol sierra's and replaced it with a 6.2....

better than that, it'll be bigger news when GM decides to put a 6 spd auto in the hybrid!

Yeah, a luxury truck that can tow 10 tons isn't special

luxury is purely subjective... the truck is nice, but it's not exactly a ground breaking achievement when you already have the truck; engine sitting in the same building..

edit: you may want to NWS the above posts

Anyway, this is my dilema. I don't know whether to get a Camaro, or a diesel crew cab Sierra.

I am leaning toward the Sierra right now. If I fix up the truck it will be my daily-driver-hot-rod-truck and could probably take a Camaro in a drag race.
It is much more expensive, but it is also safer for the kids.

Decisions, decisions........

No, I wouldn't consider anything else but a Duramax diesel, and I get the GM employee discount.

It's hard to compare the two....such different use vehicles that you would really like to have both (probably not possible). The Sierra crew would be the more useful of the two....there isn't anything you wouldn't be able to do with that truck.
