H3 was on GMT-345.

the h2 isn't a bad vehicle, i kinda like them... now the h3, thats junk... ive worked on several of them... that aside, if they brought the level of technology from the larger vehicles and put it in the mid size trucks, they would have a fighting chance... point being, it's almost the same price to buy a full size truck as it is a small/mid truck...

I'll take your word for it. Is GMT-345 an enlarged/modified version of their midsize truck platform?

Alright. I wasn't sure if you agreed, disagreed, or were just providing more info.

I disagree...I owned an H3x and it was bulletproof. Only reason I got rid of it was the lease was up. Very capable truck. I took the HUMMER off road training course in Indiana. Same course the army used to train soldiers. Drove the H1, H2 and H3. It would shock most people what these trucks could do.

I was under the impression that the H2 was based on a larger version of the Tahoe not Suburban/Yukon XL platform.

The H2 is built under contract by AM General at a specially constructed plant in Mishawaka, Indiana, USA. GM's GMT820 truck platform with the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon, those vehicles differ in many ways and are constructed in three other GM plants. The H2's final frame assembly is made up of 3 sections: The front uses a modified GM 2500-Series utility frame, the mid-section is all new and is completely boxed, and the rear section uses a modified GM 1500-Series frame which is upgraded for the 8,600 pounds (3,900 kg) gross vehicle weight.

and the H3 was based on the Colorado/Canyon platform which is why you could only get the inline 5 (this was before the 5.3 V8 Alpha model came out) instead of the inline 6 from the now RIP Trailblazer/Envoy?

The Hummer H3 is a vehicle from General Motors' Hummer division introduced in 2006 and based on the GMT355 that underpins the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon compact pickup trucks.

We could both be right, after all the Suburban does use the 2500 utility frame.

Avalanche is based on Suburban/Yukon XL which is longer than the Tahoe/Yukon . I know they are both still GM truck/suv but you know.
