It, frankly, would be nothing new...the domestics have been the target of condescension and ridicule for the past 15 years if not more. BUT! -- The idea is that hopefully there won't be any problems with the new car they buy.

After all...GM's initial quality (JDPower) has recently surpassed that of the foreign makes.

I hear ya...I don't think it will. I think the domestics stand to gain a lot of ground from this...but they have to capitalize on it. The Toyota-owner incentives are a good start.

hmm...Which Red? Victory or the Red Jewel?

this is all a big bump in the road for Toyota and no doubt they will be back, I just love giving the S right back to co workers about Toyota's, that they have given me about GM for the last 3 yrs. The domestic market should see some gain from all this they need to stay focused and keep the extra shares it gains in the market.

I don't think Toyota will be back to where they were in terms of public perception. Too many problems, too much denial, too much exposure. Their image has been shattered, an image that took decades to generate.

Yes point made. , but to clear it up I was referring to sales as far as they will stay in the top three and in a few years could gain ground again (people soon forget) if the domestics let their guard down (GM ,Ford and maybe Chrysler if they make it) JMO

i like the victory red...but i like the rjt.also but money is a concern id rather have the boston acu.up grade than the rjt.
ive wanted to own this car since 1967...when my dad brought home a 67 ss 350.maroon it was soo cool...
got involved with trucks and bikes so this will be my first nice car all the rest have been winter beaters and family cars.
im really excited about this for myself as well as for gm and our countrywe need manufacturing in this country.
gm is spending 500 mill near here in buffalo.tonawanda engine plant.....lets get the glory back i think many americans will give gm and ford a chance if they build what the people want...
sorry im off subject....

I for one am glad toyota is finally getting their just desserts. This company has tried to hide so many things for years, it really should be criminal. The head of toyota sales USA was asked yesterday if he thought the fixes in place that toyota has been doing should completely fix the unintended acceleration issue...his response: "I don't think so". WTF kind of answer is THAT? I read somewhere that State Farm Insurance was getting reports from some of their insured about accidents caused by the unintended acceleration issue. State Farm notified the NHTSA. They were ignored, and toyota was telling customers it was false. THIS WAS 4 FREAKING YEARS AGO! Now, someone please try to defend that. Screw toyota. They can rot in hell. So can the NHTSA. Now, we all know there will be some ambulance-chasing sleazeball lawyers advertising for toyota owners to jump on the litgation bandwagon, but seriously....this whole story is bad news. Not just for the people that have suffered or died, but bad news for anyone involved with toyota as well....and toyota is still saying the problem has nothing to do with the electronics. Yeah, right. And if my Aunt had balls, she would be my Uncle. Keep digging that grave, toyota.

thats a deceptive award.... it's like saying the cake tastes good because it looks good.... so, before the chrome trim wears off, power steering leaks out, and exhaust falls off, the car was great! please...

Toyota's Congressional hearing will probably be the same circus routine that the big 3 had... only difference now, there will be no bail out (not that they need it) to be even more upset about...

but if they said the same about your honda you would use that as a reason for you to buy your metric car.
so if jd power dosent mean any thing why does everyone use them in there advertiseing?
its funny people that buy metric cars and bikes are always so
defenseive why?
is it becuse deep down they are reallly ashamed?
maybe they know its wrong but do it anyway?

Does no one here see the conflict of interests?

The US government owns (not just owns... but has a major stake in) GM & Chrysler, the competition of Toyota... yet they are having US congressional hearings (taxpayers expense) over this.

And in my lifetime I've seen recall after recall of every make and model (yes, some due to deaths)... why now is this the biggest deal on the planet? Who does it benefit the most?

How about we stop wasting taxpayers money for congressional hearings on baseball, football, and car recalls. (Have they set the date for the hearing on Tiger Woods?) If it wasn't so sad I'd be laughing right now.

If people want athletes that Juice... that's what they get, if they don't... then that's what they get. If people want a car that has had a recall... it's their prerogative. What happened to my USA?

Fuel to the fire.
I actually own a Toyota, and my family has always been a Toyota/GM family. All we buy is Toyota and GM products. GM's minivans sucked... so my parents bought Toyotas Sienna. Very nice, But they just recently bought a GMC Acadia Love it!!!

But I love my FJ Cruiser too, IMHO it's a lot better than what GM had to offer...

But obviously we love GM, I own a Camaro, and I had a 2003 GMC Sierra my father has had 4 GMC Sierras since 1985
