The writers of the Constitution put our rights in order. If you take away the 2nd then that just leaves the first vulnerable. How are you going to defend your first admendment rights without your second admendment rights?

Its not even a law issue for some people. It's a LIFESTYLE. Taking guns away would be really stupid. Too bad people have to misuse them.

what scares me more then that is being in my own freakin house and using a gun because someone did break in and still going to jail for it.

and if you didn't know a lot of people have tried that and end up going to jail. Or they call someone over and blow their head off because of a dispute. . .still that person goes to jail.

and if you're looking for a street address and knocking on someones door. . .who knows what's going to happen when they open that door. could be a killer that likes knives. . .should we ban knives? or wait wait. . .how about someone that knows how to kill someone with their hands. . .should we cut everyones hands off?

No one is misusing them. Guns are ment to kill. In that sense they are doing their job just fine. It's only when people decide to use them on their fellow human beings that they do something wrong.

I saw a news article not long ago that talked about Europe not knowing how to deal with a dramatic increase in knife crimes. I think it demonstrates that evil people will find a way to do their ill will.

Nobody would get away with it. You can't open fire on someone unless they make a move to harm you or your family. And even then, you could still get in legal trouble, which is total IMO.

Its Called the " CASTLE DOCTRINE" TEXAS just passed this law in feb 07. And It protects any LAW ABIDING PERSON who shoots Someone in defense of thier home or family. FRom Civil And Criminal..REMEMBER THIS TOPIC http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5687 Similar circumstances. well it would be if it were HIS OWN HOUSE.. AND ALL CHARGES WERE dropped.. Hell From what i heard the D.A. didnt even want to bring up charges, but some thing about an election changed his mind.. The TEXAS SUPREME COURT (if iam not mistaken) THREW THE CASE OUT,DISSMISSED ALL CHARGES..

But Any way i dont think everyone will ever agree on this HOT Subject.. Seems No matter where or why this is brought up it usually get very different opinions on it..and who is to say that another opinion is wrong?

^^^ i have heard that, or just tax the hell out of it so nobody can afford to buy it.

when i hear the gun issue i think of one thing.
"people should not fear their government, government should fear their people"
the only way that can happen is if we have our guns. take them away, then they can do what ever they want.

Oklahoma passed a similar law, not a week later it was tested in my home town, homeowners son went by his dads house to pick something up, sees the door is ajar and calls 911, out comes a robber with a handful of his dads firearms, then you hear the 911 tape, "put down the gun or I'm gonna shoot you! put down the gun! PUT DOWN THE GUN! bang bang. Robber is dead, charges are never brought up. THAT'S the way it should be. One less prick on the streets. You think that's harsh? Poor guy was killed trying to make a living for his family? No, the young man is fully justified in his actions.
If you don't want, or feel you need a gun, that's cool. I've been raised with them all my life, in USA they are not a privilege, they are a RIGHT to keep and bare. If I make some cop nervous because I'm armed, well, he makes me nervous too.

Yes, you could be an intruder. That's why you want to stand in the light, speak clearly, with your hands in plain sight, and don't put anything thru the doorway that hasn't been invited in.
