I'm as big and advocate of strong competition makes us (the consumer) win every time as anyone.

But this special edition crap doesn't scare anyone. Noone even blinks anymore when Mustang has it's weekly press release of it's dozen or so new special editions.

If the actual cars are being improved, not by special editions but by manufacturer's, then that's the spirit of competition and it directly helps all of us.

Making $60k+ pony cars is just silly...it doesn't make sense when the consumer can go buy a Vette/Viper/(insert Euro supercar here) and go much much faster.

true but blame the mustangs for starting that trend of over expensive special editions.

but you cant argue that this supercharged challenger wont at least pressure the aftermarket to make a good supercharger for the ss(which was probably coming anyway)

A supercharger for an SS is as inevidable as any other after market product... especially with the excessive amount of hood space GM left.

im not a big fan of special editions, but some of them do turn out to be nice.

i swear, when ever i go anywhere i always rent a Mustang V6 from Avis... and i see about 28687263287 "moostang-brothers" on the road. Its borderline annoying to see so many of your car on the road.

im glad the RS/SS will be a more exclusive group
