wow.... totally missed that...

Hell, I'll sell him my car at half the price and modify it to get 20mpg.

or sell it super cheap to him so he has a project to increase his mechanical skill knowledge on it and I'd even deliver it to him.

used Pontiac G6
2010 nissan altima coupe 2.5 s
chevrolet cobalt
4th gen 3.8 camaro

other than that i don't have any ideas on other vehicles, i'm mainly a chevy guy, but the new altima coupes are pure sex, and i just figured i'd ask you guys input. thanks alot!!

Let's break it down...

-You drive a Colorado (which is great for cargo/hauling/towing stuff)
-Looking for a Daily driver with good gas mileage
-and you don't want to spend more than 24k.

You might find a Malibu to your liking given your size, but maybe you'd like the cargo/towing capacity the new Equinox?

Starts at 22k, and returns 32mpg hwy! (which is more than my Cobalt was rated at...)

If you are just looking for a daily driver, you should look for used. A 2008 Malibu LS with 30K miles on it in excellent condition sells for $12,585 and a 2008 Mazda3 i Sedan sells for $11,800. Put the other 10k in the bank or throw a supercharger on your SS.

you guys are throwing out great ideas. a base ls camaro auto would be sweet pq. my grandpa loves malibu's, so he may want to go that way. i love my little truck, being able to haul stuff is great, but it is an extended cab and there's basically no need for back seats, making it a 2 seater, so if more than 2 people come with me somewhere, we gotta take the camaro. which is no problem to me as i love my car, but a lil better mpg's when i have to go out of town would be great. and the malibu's seem to be one of the more well built gm automobiles as of late.

A Malibu LS will hit 30 MPG on the highway easily. If you can find an '09 LT or any LTZ model with the 2.4L I-4/6 speed automatic you'll increase that to 33 on the highway.

I would say the Malibu. Great car, great gas mileage, and will be comfy at over 6 feet as a daily driver. We helped out aunt in Florida find one last month and there some nice rebates....

Listen to Fen's more specific advice if you do seriuosly consider one

Mazdaspeed 3!!

I had the same problem when I returned from a deployment a couple of years ago. Needed something I wouldnt mind trashing, running up the milage, and most importantly was FUN. I bought a Mazdaspeed 3 and I still love that car. Gets good gas milage, great price, and it can haul a bunch of gear. It is one car I would purchase again!
