"up north" I'm ~80 mi north of you right now, though normally I'm only about 40 miles north-west.

I get what you are saying, I just wish there wasn't a big enough market of ill-informed people to make it viable for automakers.

There are quite a few downsides to RWD for commuters and such. Not the least of which is a dramatic hit to interior space. Plus they tend not to be efficient for a number of reasons. Ya the V6 may get 29 freeway- but I'm getting 26+ in mixed use.

And comparing new cars, price point for price point- the FWDs are pretty good performers. Sure my SS can't beat a 2010 Mustang GT500- but those are $7k more.

And FWD is a bonus in the snow.

As far as the Neon goes, I don't know what he was thinking. It's so easy to do a burnout in a FWD car- you don't need curbs.

Interesting how the Neon has a transverse engine and the hood popped up in the middle and not on the side where the flywheel would be.
