I think this is the most confusing part about the whole thing.

You live up north, are you telling me you've never heard the "problems with RWD" speech?

poor fuel economy
high price
poor driveability
high repair costs
can't drive it in the snow

All of them are ""s...but that's the spiel.

"up north" I'm ~80 mi north of you right now, though normally I'm only about 40 miles north-west.

I get what you are saying, I just wish there wasn't a big enough market of ill-informed people to make it viable for automakers.

There are quite a few downsides to RWD for commuters and such. Not the least of which is a dramatic hit to interior space. Plus they tend not to be efficient for a number of reasons. Ya the V6 may get 29 freeway- but I'm getting 26+ in mixed use.

And comparing new cars, price point for price point- the FWDs are pretty good performers. Sure my SS can't beat a 2010 Mustang GT500- but those are $7k more.

And FWD is a bonus in the snow.

And yes I read the list above, but some of it is actually true.

As far as the Neon goes, I don't know what he was thinking. It's so easy to do a burnout in a FWD car- you don't need curbs.

Interesting how the Neon has a transverse engine and the hood popped up in the middle and not on the side where the flywheel would be.

My CSRT is a ton of fun. When I had it modded it was killer from a roll but just sucked from a stop.

Spin the tires through 3rd going 60+ MPH.
