they clearly stated the cost to design a manual would not be worth the money in terms of sales.

gm literally said this.

If gm can have this breadth of offerings they certainly could put a manual in the C8. Not the ZR1 but a base Stingray or Z06 would benefit from a manual option.
From everything I have read on the C8 is the tunnel is structural

Cutting a hole in it would weaken it.

Not to mention the DCT is faster everywhere at everything.

Want a manual buy a C7

On the subject of naming the car...it is not like gm owns Zora's name.

I would think the family probably asked for a bigger slice of the pie than gm was willing to cut.

Or maybe gm never planned to name it after ZAD.

I think it is incredible that gm would build these two cars.

I also think BMW has a trademark on the X as 4 wheel drive in it's naming.

So using Xtreme seems logical and if people want to relate it to 4wd that is just a bonus

Right, the tunnel being part of the structure is what I was missing. It's just that not long ago asking for a 1250hp AWD Corvette would have seemed a much larger ask than a manual option. I went back and read some of what Tadge said and on top of the tunnel he says no supplier wants to make a manual at a loss. The shifter location would necessitate a cable instead of direct linkage.

Anyways the ZR1-X is an absolute beast that sets the bar extremely high for anything that competes with it.

Nope. Not an engineer. The CEO. Rick Wagoner was CEO. He not only attended Duke, he was on the basketball team. The Corvette team was hoping that he would never cancel anything named after his alma mater's mascot. He almost did.

So you're saying we need a Camaro proposal named Bulldog. Barra went to Kettering and apparently their mascot is a bulldog.

You might be on to something. That or a cardinal. I think she got her MBA at Stanford.

The author left out: dohc uptrim engines, mag-ride again, 'designer' interiors, Lambo-ish busy exterior, could use more grip/less weight like most.

The C8 is more interesting to Euro-philes, and apparently to conventional thinkers that don't see surrender.

So then... if that's what Vette guys want, that's fine, whatever.
