I saw maybe one ricer in this preview BB, might wanna watch the trailer. =P They're not meant to be realistic, they're supposed to be entertaining, which they are.

I found the 2 i was able to watch parts of to be insipid and ridiculous. far from entertaining to me. Cannon Ball run....is entertaining. F&F just plain bad.

Not saying much. That's like saying herpes is the best vinereal disease. I mean, it's only there every now and then, right?

Obviously S & B is a classic good car chase movie. But it didn't use CGI to show stunts that were apparently too difficult to do in real life. not saying it can't be done but in watching the main street race in F&F:TD, it was blatantly obvious it was fake. too much CGI these days and not enough real stunts. Every punk ass ricer boy thinks that cause they saw them do it in a movie, so can they.
I'm going to be taking stunt driving lessons from a pro, the guy who did the stunts in transformers with the '76 to be exact, so at least I can say I can really "drive".

My point, they need to make a movie that shows the ricerboys that street rodded muscle is king and if they wanna blow $20k on a car, do it on something that's worth it and shake the world with HP and not flatulent compacts.

oh btw just to pacify certain people, this is just my personal opinion.

That's some japanese car hate going on in this thread.

I think you're too serious about this Come on, car movies can't be taken seriously, they're about pure fun and entertainment, unspoiled by sophisticated things like good plot, realism or at-least-proper acting
In this category "Tokyo Drift" really shines - you just have to turn the volume off during dialogue and turn it 100% up when it comes to engine roar. Plus there were some muscle cars in that movie, and final Nissan looked really awesome. May the first one who didn't drool when seeing girls in that movie throw the stone (and I'm not a fan of japanese girls!).

Hey at least it has Paul Walker and Vin Diesel and not the other dummy in Tokyo Drift. Oh yeah and it also has the Charger

Christ.

Seriously, the scene they showcased there was way too ripped off the first movie. One of the crew members is dangling at one point, the cars have to all drive backwards at some point, and can you please hide the pyrotechnics in editing that made the fuel truck flip over and burn?

I liked the first one, I was in that scene at the time. The second one was awful and I realized it in time to finally see it long after it went to DVD because someone else let me borrow it. The 3rd one I was actually impressed with but again did not see it in theaters. Unless another trailer comes out to make me think this isn't a ripoff of the first one, I'll be waiting to borrow it from someone else again.

Of course, they destroy that car. I'm sure the same fate will befall the Chevelle I've seen in spy shots...

I saw this trailer during the previews for Death Race.
I think fast and the furious looks like they got it right this time. Besides the fact that hyundai is paying to be in the movie.
