The tornado hit my neighborhood yesterday! Probably unimpressive to those in the midwest. It was a small white funnel. It flipped over one SUV, sunk a couple of boats in the harbor, and blew my neighbor's roof off.

OMG better go to the nearest Toyota dealer and offer a sacrifice of a quart of oil to the hybrid gods, it the only way we will be saved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup, sucks! My car is unfortunately parked outside in the driveway :( So, I "had" a pretty heavy duty carport canopy for her: 2" downpies, staked into the ground on 1 side. Well, came home from work yesterday and it was ripped apart and over in my neighbors yard - after busting his cars 2 antennas, breaking his glass on the security light and denting his hood :( very sad.

I will try to get new parts for it and bolt it down into the cement this time :(

Oh well...now my baby is out in the weather, unprotected! This sucks!

It's pretty freaky that i'm sitting inside my building and I can hear the darned rain beating down hard...my car is parked outside probably getting demolished :(

There is nothing you are gonna do to that carport to guard against even a small tornado. It will help for high winds though. Probably not likely that one will come your way for a long time.
