This car is the centennial concept from 2008 and was in TF2 as 'Sideswipe'. Its not new. I hope that the C7 gets a lot of the aggressive elements from this concept. The styling on the Vette is getting dated (C6 hardly looks different from the C5, which looks like a smoothed out C4). It needs more of a 'wow' factor.

i like the idea of putting it into the design, i can see the C7 having the split rear window as well, Considering Ed Wellburn confirmed it:
http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/f...-window-84314/
http://blogs.insideline.com/straight...it-window.html

Totally agree with DG, the corvette sorta needs a visual overhaul to keep it modern. Fen is that article on GMI still valid? (just want to make sure there haven't been changes/updates)

If this does go,I can't wait for the vertical door lambo door haters to start their bashing because this is a muscle car and can't have that. The line between muscle car and supercar is starting to get real thin with the corvette IMO.

Looks are subjective. Just because you and junkie don't like it doesn't mean everyone else shouldn't.

For the record, I have said it as well. It has it's really cool points, ie mostly the interior, but the front end needs some work, and the backend needs some work keep the middle where it is.

The more 'out there' elements will likely never make it into the C7, like the huge front brake ducts, the recessed tail lights, and the odd exhaust pipes. But I'd be willing to bet that the profile view (the best view of the car IMO) will be very similar,

As for the interior...it's definitely possible now. The OLED touch-screens in the XTS concept are basically production from what I've heard, they're just looking for the best way to produce them now.

I may be wrong. If I am, don't laugh too hard Number 3. I'm just passing along what I know.
Oh, I'm laughing, Fen. I'm laughing.................but not too hard.

I'm betting exterior and interior will at least be similar. Split-rear window will probably be a no-go, and for safety reasons I think that's a good call.

Why? It would provide a more rigid structure and backup cameras are fairly mature technology I would not be surprised if it is a standard feature on a 'nicer' Corvette

Why is it money is spent even designing such a beautiful car if there is no intent to produce it. Am I missing something here? I never understood getting all the hype only to produce something that looks nothing like the concept.

Can anyone shed any light on this for me?
