I had an Viper when I was 25 and it ran about 350 a month. I also had a NSX at 21 and the insurance was around 300 a month. Granted those are not super high end.

I had a friend that the insurance on his Lambo was around 10k a year.

You are correct, the main part of the manual calculations we did is for the collision/comp coverage.

Unfortunately though you would be surprised how many people stretch to afford these cars. About 8 or 9 years ago a moron in a Lamborghini Diablo (with his wife in the car!!) was street racing a guy in a Corvette and decided to go head on into traffic to pass him and hit a Volvo head on killing himself and the couple in the Volvo. The subsequent news story pointed out that this guy mortgaged his house to buy that car.

I see high end cars getting repoed a lot around here, even before the financial collapse.

If we could afford the payments on a $200,000 car, I think we could afford this insurance payment. As a comparrison, I currently pay about $133 per month for my Hyundai
Someone buying/owning an Aston Martin DB9 is going to have a lot more coverage than that. Minimum of 250/500 BI and probably some sort of umbrella policy of at least a million. That should jack that rate up quite a bit.

I gotta agree with ssump here, while maybe its cheaper for some Aston parts than some other exotics like a Ferrari or Lamborghini, its still a big nut to swallow. $750 for an oil change is low, compared to one on a Ferrari that is $1500 because they have to remove the belly pan.

Aston Martin is also willing to (for a fee of course) fly a mechanic and parts out to you if you got stuck on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere. They sell it as a benefit on their website!

While those are expensive they wouldn't qualify the same, heck a Mercedes Benz S-Class or a Porsche 911 can be at or over 100k, and are still rated as normal cars.

If you have to ask, you can't afford it.

Yes, of course if you can afford a 200,000 dollar car or let alone a Buggati Veyron you surely could afford the insurance on it, but I was more or less just wondering how much do people pay on these things. I hear these hip/hop/rap artist rapping about Buggati Veyrons and ect,...which sparked me to wonder, how much does it cost to insure that things.

If there were only say, 12 made in the world, I guess it would be high as hell because the parts are so rare. BTW, I plan on winning the lottery. Bugatti here I come. rofl.

IIRC I remember premiums between $6k and $10k for various cars like that.... I'm sorry I can't be more specific it was a few years ago...
