I'm sure the car had much more than 5 miles on it.

From his description, one would assume so, but I thought I would point that fact out. Beside, he said the car was in the PDI area, meaning it was very likely it had liitle or no miles on it. I know two other people that got their dealer to allow them to test drive a GT500 but they were not able to experience the car in full boost for that reason.

I didn't even bring up the fact that no 2010 GT500 MSRP's anywhere near $54K.

What I did forget to ask, was how did this test-drive compare to the one you did back in November? You remember:

Should that matter????

Didn't he give the car the credit it deserved???

Didn't he say it felt faster and so on?

In the end he did say that he's satisfied with his Camaro but I saw no where where the OP took a shot at the GT500 only praised it.

I hate to see these threads because it always ends up being a Camaro vs GT500 thread. Both are nice cars, Both are fast. We all know stock for stock the Camaro can't hang with the GT500 but the Camaro is definitely the best bang for the buck between the two.

I say to each his own .... GT500's are very nice cars with an engine that can be the building block for big HP cheap! ... Ford did this car right .. take a stock SS and do what you would need to do to it (forged internals, blower and all the equipment that goes with it ..) ..the price tag would be close to the GT500s for sure so Ford hasn't priced themselves out of the car and chevy won't either if/when the Z/28 appears.

I'm obviously a non biased car enthusiast though so remember that when I post.

I don't see anywhere in this thread that it is becoming "Camaro vs. GT500". The OP stated his/her impressions and some folks asked him/her some question based on his/her commentary.

Consider my post before you edited out a few things in the one I quoted.

If you want to add those comments back in then cool. Otherwise that can be our little secret.

No biggie.

But to be clear, I was questioning why you felt you needed to defend the GT500 when the OP was clearly an endorsement of what a great car it is....

That's all. You removed the couple comments that drove me to post what I did.

No ulterior motive.

I woulda considered a Black GT500, they are badass looking except the rear is a lil weak.

I ahd a Camaro when a was younger. Then I went to a Corvette. Now I have kids. Felt better a small back seat than none at all. Before I bought the new camaro I had to test drive the new challenger SRT-8. Never been a pony guy. I have to say and no offense to anyone but that car is a sled, pretty b ut a sled. Not inpressed at all. The new Camaro rock. Has the vette motor and tranny. With a couple of mods she will fly.

Why is Ford so stubborn with that Live Rear Axle? Why can't they get the weight ratio even?

Just wondering... because these are 2 constant complaints about the mustang, and you think they'd like to silence the critics.
Edit: Not to mention make their car the best it can be.

I can definately feel the balance in the Camaro, and it makes the car handle extremely well!

For street/strip duty I prefer a live axle personally and I guess Ford has something right with it as the car holds a .95 skidpad. They have seemed to master both. Pretty damn impressive if you ask me and I would not consider myself a pure Mustang fanatic.
