I have always though Ford does the best with the distinct sounds of the Mustangs throughout the years.
They sound like they are hauling ass until you are actually in them....then it's just a cute car that makes a lot of noise. But in the spirit of this poll, the Mustang does win IMO. |

nothing beats the OLD Gen 1 Small block Chevy for sound...

the mustangs stock are very quiet my friend has a shelby gt and you can barely hear it and from the inside you cant even hear it at all really he just put a flowmaster exhaust on it and the difference you cant even really notice.

my friend has a 4.6, and i was suprised at how much i liked it.
now another buddy of mine has an 05' GTO w/ a Magnaflow on it. that thing purrrrrrrrrrrs. |

Motor Trend agreed with you. They compared the SRT8 and GT500 for their July 2008 issue. They preferred the SRT8 even though the GT500 beat it in every performance category except braking, 'cause the GT500 didn't have an independent rear suspension and they didn't like the motor's whine.
