Ya that was funny. That bug was on every street in the chase! If it wasn't driving by, it was parked. The other flub in that movie is that they used 2 different Mustangs during the car chase. One was a GT and the other a car made up to look like a GT.

The GT had it's original exhaust sticking out and the other cars' exhaust was tucked up under the rear tailpan so one second the exhaust was there and on the next scene, it was gone. Also the rear-view mirror was on in one car but removed in the other so it also kept appearing and disappearing throughout the chase.

The City of San Francisco limited them to just a couple of blocks that they could shoot on. It's the same streets over and over again just shot from different angles.

In one scene, McQueen's Mustang clearly breaks a control arm. (64.5 to 73 Mustangs have weak control arms anyway) It just all the sudden has like 60° + camber. In the next scene it's just up and running straight. It must have been faith healed.

The Fast and Furious movies? I just don't fell like typing an essay right now.

BUT apparently, 'Blowing the welds on your intake manifold' makes your floorboard fall out.

I hated the questions that movie generated. That silly blue bottle in the back all the sudden became the launching point for 10,000 questions.

Yes, it is an NOS kit.
No, it will not 'blow the welds' on my intake manifold. It hasn't even done anything to the long to short runner butterfly valve which is much weaker than the one piece cast intake itself.
No, it's not 'nitros', 'noss', 'naws', or any of that nonsense. It's nitrous oxide. N2O. Two parts nitrogen, one part oxygen and a tiny bit of unpleasant stuff to keep your monkey ass from inhaling it.
No, it's not going to spontaneously blow up. it provides more oxygen to burn more fuel for more power
No, I do not have a Spoon engine. No, you do not have a Mugen engine. No, the GA16DE (or D15B7 or whatever Capt Ricer McRice had under the hood) is completely useless.

I remember that episode and almost mentioned it earlier. Even though it was just a wagon I thought what a shame. But then, I have a personal likeness toward the trifives (55,56,57).

A lot of police chase scenes have so many mistakes. A couple that sticked out for me...one was the made-for-TV "Knight Rider 2000" movie with that Banshee clone as KITT. The police cars in this near-futuristic film were all Chevrolet Berettas. During a chase where a police car was blown up, it magically changed into an '80's Dodge Charger hatchback before exploding.

In the movie Short Time, there's a great chase scene where Dabney Coleman is trying to get himself killed by chasing a Pontiac with a machinegun-toting passenger. All of the police cars involved in the chase are Dodge Diplomats, until the guy with the gun starts shooting, and they all turn into late-70s Chevy Impalas.

It drives me crazy when someone says "naaaaaaaawwwwzzz". If you're too lazy to say "Nitrous Oxide", say "Nitrous" or "N Two O".

Sorry, couldn't help myself...

they actually built that 'stang with the 6cyl nissan in it so yes that was possible. The car they used for the actual drifting had a 351w in it

I always look for car errors in movies. My guess is you could find one in most every movie that has any extended car scenes.

A few other things make me laugh; when a car will continuously upshift 10-20 times...or when it is an automatic trans car that has the audio for a manual...or when cars chirp/squeal the tires on dirt.

I remember that one it was on the season 1 of KR dvd set. another 'obvious' changing of one car to another for a shot award goes to to "True Lies". in the movie when Arnold takes off in the harrier jet all the Miami PD cars are the old pre 91 boxy sedans. but when Arnold drives the harrier's landing gear wheel over the car taking out the light bar on the roof it becomes an Chevrolet Celebrity sedan.

yeah I remember an article in a mustang magazine, in the story it was a TWIN turbo 6 from a Skyline GT-R. but they could only fit a single turbo version of the engine in the mustang. also a neat bit of trivia mid 60s mustangs share the same bolt pattern with modern rear drive/AWD Nissans that is why they were able to put the wheels from the Skyline that they got the motor from onto the 'stang.

it's possible but it (unlike the wheels) doesn't just bolt right in like it was in the movie

Also in Robocop when Clarence Bodiker slaps the top of his new 2000SUX you can see the rearveiw mirror fall off inside the car.
And in Gone in 60 seconds when Nick Cage starts the GT500 the exhaust comes out the back of the car despite it having sidepipes.

Another no way they could have kept up: In Rising Sun (Wesley Snipes and Sean Connery) The dude takes off in a Vector W-2 and the police keep up.

Second, not really a car flub of sorts, but in Happy Gilmore as they are showing the course before the championship round the VW Bug that hits Adam Sandler is already under the tower way before he gets hit by it.
