He probably knew what was coming.

Here is the quote... but yeah those PalMals were probably sitting in the same spot.

“I used metal picks — they’re brass and copper — which I always held in my mouth, in the exact place where I got the tongue cancer,” he told Billboard in 2015. “Plus, I basically live in a recording studio that’s filled with electromagnetic energy. So that’s one theory.”

He will be truly missed. So grateful I had the chance to see him in 2007.

So many uncountable memories to his music. The local rock station of course took VH request and played his music most of the day. RIP

I remember rockin' to Van Halen I in high school. Such talent and unique style. Cliche to say often imitated but never duplicated but accurate. Many of his riffs often bounce through my brain but 2 of my favorites were the beginning to the song Mean Street and the solo in Hot for Teacher. Time to crank up the Sony and blast the neighbors in his honor.

Paul McCartney has lived in a recording studio since 1962 and he’s 78 and still in great shape.

The thing about Van Halen is that their formula was to make hard rock FUN! You had Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath and the like that came out of the 70s which was all about the occult, death, mysticism, dark and mysterious bands. Then when Van Halen hit, they took those exploding bass and drums and Eddie's shredding guitar and put them to songs about hot girls, fast cars, and just having a blast in life. They wore bright colors and were always smiling and laughing while completely blowing you away. You put on one of their albums and it made your day.

Or as Dave put it, their sound was meant to spill out off of your turntable and ruin the rest of your records!

Such a loss, 1978, I was 14 at a friends house, the needle dropped on VH1, my mind was forever blown! It was like nothing else on earth at the time.

I have seen them multiple times over the years, truly a marvel live.

I build and play guitars today because of him. One of a kind, long live the King!
