the general just needed to step their game up. i wasnt a big fan of saab but i heard they were a pretty decent company.

I think in a good year, Saab was about 140,000 units globally. Not sure about the profits as they never break down division by division.

But in the end, they were selling very few cars in the U.S. Hundreds only in the last month I saw numbers for (November).

The SAAB Sonett III remains one of my favorites. But it was a young persons car and I ended up selling my last one because I kept pulling a shoulder muscle getting in or out. I even put a smaller steering wheel on which helped for a year or so. The car was about 13 feet long, five feet wide, and iirc 44 inches tall. A true sports car in every sense of the word. They're having a hard time getting enough cash to pay suppliers. Over the last few months I think they've only been building cars about 1 week out of 3.

Saab is circling the drain. Saab asked the Swedish government for a bailout. Denied.
Russian and Chinese potential buyers flaked out.
If they go under, the entire city of Trollhatten will disappear.
