I haven't heard of a change only the expedited inspection but at CF7 they literally rushed through never had anyone required to open the hood and put people in random classes with zero consistency. But I could probably slap a damn V8 engine cover on and be in a V8 class.

There is no winning big money here, and it is all for fun and enjoying your car. So no, no one is looking through your engine bay with a flashlight. The expectation is you are honest and know what class you should be in. If you don't know, asked, they will help you. If you are there to be dishonest, then don't go. Last year, there were a couple cars that honestly didn't know and it was corrected. Such as "a stock V8 cannot be cammed".

Funny story, down in Texas at Camarofest, with the hood open, they tried to put me in the V8 Stock class. I said seriously, and they were like yeah why. I said that big TVS2300 sitting on top is "Stock approved".... Oh yeah, about that.....

Agreed, like I said they could really do with some eyes open tech inspection. It's not hard to spot tell tale things on these cars.
