I remeber when my friend got one of the first 350z. It had all this limited crap on it also. If you go over so many RPM(not sure what it was but it was really low) the first 5k miles it voided the warrenty.

I'm curious about this as well. Do Corvettes have limitations in their warranties with similar things? I'd understand maybe a voided warranty on a car you were race-prepping and changing equipment on, but if you were just taking a stock vehicle on some sort of an open track day for touring laps or something, would that also void the warranty?

Way to go Nissan!! So much for Godzilla!

How pathetic is this?!?!?!?!

If you race our race car, which is built for racing, and is a race car, ...which is why we built it, but you race it.... umm..... we won't cover the warranty. Because racing can have bad effects..... ummm.... on this race car. yeah... Sound good? So, please don't race this race car. Cool? Cool!

Like another said, "What a f*ing joke!!!!!*"

I Hate Yo Burst your bubble BUT GM has had these for years..one catch tho. THERE IS A FEDERAL LAW STATING THEY CANNOT RETRIEVE the info stored on them WITHOUT your permission..BUT WITH the launch of ONSTAR years ago, they can TRACK,RECORD, disable your car/truck at anytime..ALL WITH OUT YOU KNOWING.. There was a news report awhile back about how an ONSTAR rep got busted for eavesdropping(or something to that effect). Soo NO ONSTAR FOR ME!! If it comes with it i'll rip it out..

AND its NOT just GM..

FYI..EVERY F-BODY FROM 1996-1999 had these..

Yeah, I might pass on Onstar as well. I don't want someone to remotely be able to disable my car or turn on the ignition unless it is me doing it..

From what I understand, they have a list of approved tracks. When you get to one, you call them and they use the GPS to verify where you are. Then they remotely enable your 'race mode.' Once you leave the track, it goes to back to normal.

I have a Corvette and spend a lot of time on Digital Corvettes, and yes, you can race your vette and maintain the warranty. Granted, GM sees a pair of Paxton's under the hood and an NOS bottle the size of the Shuttle aux fuel tank, forget asking for a new clutch or transmission. It is a PERFORMANCE car, and GM has been very good at standing behind the drivetrains of Corvettes unless uber-abuse is determined. Recently, a guy who races his '07 lost his trans (he had about 100 passes on it) and they replaced it...yeah, he had a bit of an argument for a bit, but GM stepped up and replaced it.

It's all done from the sat nav (GPS) the system knows where certain tracks are and it will take off the limiter as soon as you enter one... you set the other stuff up yourself!!
