No matter how much I hate ricers there are a few kids out there that have some tuning talents. IMO their style sucks and their cars are missing things like torque and hot non-emo chicks but to each his own.

No mullet here, just a bad ass 5th gen that will blow your doors off and that 12 foot high thing glued to your trunk. Make fun of me as I show you my rear.

As you guys say all the time and constantly remind us to not run down someone elses joy , we do it because it is said to be acceptable. I don't get the double edge sword. I guess we can't hurt someones feeling for two tone paint, big ass wheels, or putting stripes where stripes shouldn't be. But, we can hurt someones feeling for having a car that is accepted as being no good even though we know a lot of the people that have them can't afford to make them how we feel they should be. I also know your going to say well " any ricer I've seen is an asshole". Well, I seen assholes in everymake of car. The car doesn't make the asshole. They do it own their own. Their's a couple of young kids in my town that have cars that would be consider rice ,but every time I see one of them they are very nice and say man I hope I can get something like that everyday.

Just trying to make some of you think going into this holiday season.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone at camaro5.
wow change the thread name to a Camaro5 psychology title because thats what I feel like when I read all this!
Even though your right in some perspective, whats the deal with starting a thread like this to put your camaro5 family down for putting down something that is in most cases illegal on the street and most the time are the majority for street racing and killers to innocent people that die because these "ricer" enthusiasts dont care about laws and race on city streets to prove NOTHING!!!. Im not saying all of them, but thats the name "MOST" of them have given themselves and thats why people "bash" ricers. Thats just my opinion if you dont like it. Oh WELL!! Muscle car guys do stupid stuff too and are not all perfect but when I think of drag racing, I think of muscle cars doing their thing in a 8th or 1/4 mile track "LEGALLY" not on the damn street where people can get killed! again my opinion!!

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't a 'ricer' a person who buys a non-performance, typically import, front-wheel drive, 4 cyclinder coupe
or sedan for minimal $ and then proceeds to put massive amounts of cosmetic
'enhancements' that really offer no performance gains, then proceeds to
act and say that their car is 'serious powah/torque, only for serious racing'
etc? Nitrous, or nitrous stickers does not a race/performance car make...

If this ^ is in fact a 'ricer', they deserve to be ridiculed.

I can't afford a new Corvette, so why would I make fun of someone
who owns and takes pride in a less expensive vehicle than what I drive
based solely on that it is less expensive? WTF?

It really all depends on your definition of ricer. To me, the above quote defines a ricer (aka poser). I will be one of the FIRST to acknowledge a nicely tuned import: if its well done and can keep up with me, that is awesome work on the owner's part.

I can see your understanding in my post but that's MY reason why I "bash" ricers and could be why others make fun of them too!. Like I said its all my opinion. You know they are not building their cars to go to car shows or to go to the track. They want to have a car that they can drive on the street everyday and race anything they see fit to race and not spend to much money while doing it. I have tons of friends that are into the import/tuner scene and that's their reason why they are into it. Plus they look like damn shopping carts with a clown outfit on! and they sound obnoxious as hell....

Its a proven fact that TypeR stickers add 20HP

the car you attached the image of is built for racing though... race cars (typically) don't have an appealing paint job. They're meant to have sponsor stickers slapped on, like the one you showed. And as that one is built for racing, it is far from being a ricer.

That's so true man.

Here in town they just recently broke up two big car gatherings due to ricers antics. The first parking lot they got chased out of because they were all doing burnouts in it and finally some idiot literally crashed into a business. The second one was a good gathering, until the ricers showed up. One night two of them decided to do burnouts in the parking lot together and ran into each other! Both meets are now history because the police who had let it go at first were forced to act because of these knuckleheads endangering lives and property.
