I did - the least we can do is take 1 minute of our day to show some appreciation for those that protect our safety each day.

Also, if you have the means, drop off a prepaid telephone calling card at your local post office. They have a program to send them to the troops. It might just be the difference between a family knowing thier loved ones are safe this holiday season or worrying about them.

Just finished sending a card. Also, there's a program called Subscriptions for Soldiers, I've seen it in Guns and Ammo. I think itls sponsored by the NRA.

I second that. In Iraq or Afghanistan, most Soldiers only have access to phones that require prepaid phone cards. I don't know who the current phone server is (it was ATT when I was there in 2004), maybe someone who does know could post that up. A lot of troops are cash strapped and calling home isn't that cheap if you have to pay for it. Being able to talk to family members helped keep my sanity.

You can here is my address.. I work for the Army Special Forces
Care packages with soap and deodorant tooth paste and snack food would be the best thing. Being here in a small firebase ( there's only like 30 of us here) we don't have the PX to go buy stuff and most of the time it takes a month or so to get mail.
