They need to deregulate or what ever ya call it so cell towers are shared.

90% of the tower is just that a tower, they could make all towers government or shared owned and anyone can put up a box.

Sounds a bit odd but its like what they did with phone lines.

You can only have so many lines run all over, and the same with towers.
As everyone wants better cell reception but wont let a tower go up in their neighborhood to get it. They all expect it to work like magic.

If ya can't get something in your area, its a good chance it cause your neighbor doesn't want it to happen, not that they can't make it happen.
Put blame where it really lies. In your mirror

Same with wind power, everyone wants to go green but not in their neighborhood.

I have the Tour and really like it. I do not like touch screen only for a phone... I do have an Itouch, but that made me know for sure I did not want it for a phone...I find the touch keyboard not as user friendly as the bb?

I also looked at the Pre as an option, but went with the Tour based on others' feedback and don't regret it one bit...It does have the ball, but I find it much more responsive than past BBs

Good luck!

There was 1 but the problem is it came out 2-3 years before the cell phone crazy.

The NGage, they spent to much time pushing it as a portable game.

It was an Iphone, Ipod n a PSP in 1, just to early to the game.

It failed big time.

Id still buy one, PSP has yet to pick up were its big hitch was. The automatic search for others with one around you. So you could challenge them to a fighting/racing/puzzle....... game.

No it should be out by Feb latest, friend of mine works for ATT and they just started their training for the Bold2/Tour2 (suppose to be the same or very similar) she said that the trackpad kinda sucks though she prefers the trackball. And Sprint has been saying that they were releasing another version of the Tour by the first quarter of next year for months now. I have the Tour and I love it, I would love if more with wifi, but I have towers less than 200yds from both home and work so coverage isn't an issue.

I friend of mine has been waiting for it to come out and has a friend that works for Verizon that has a demo unit. He said that it seems pretty solid and is very quick. As long as their are no major flaws with the Android 2.0 OS it should be a great phone. If you want a phone that will work on almost any network get a Blackberry or some other multiband phone. A Blackberry world phone will work on CDMA, GSM, etc. networks but it not really meant for multimedia apps. Motorola is releasing a GSM version of the droid for Europe but it won't be out for a while and apparently not available in the US. I currently have an iPhone 3G and I am thinking about getting the droid. I want the freedom to use the phone how I want with the apps that I want and not just how Apple thinks I should use the phone. I am willing to accept the risk that an untested app may cause issues with the phone. It is no different than running freeware on a PC.
With my BB I can have Pandora running, GPS and my browser and still use the phone normally with no slowdown. As far as multimedia goes, I can watch tv and movies on it just fine the screen is brilliant. The speaker is ok, though it would be better if they'd put two on it, but that's what headphones are for in any case. I'm not an iPhone fan so I'll skip a comment on that and I've played with a few android phones and they seem solid, I just wasn't sure how stable the OS is so I went with BB.

I havent gotten a chance to play with it yet, but I want to try. I hated the first storm. Pissed the hell out of me. But I want to see if issues I disliked, like akward touch screen sensitivity had been resolved, laggy behavior like the first gen blackberry pearls. And so on.

I am a die-hard Blackberry fan and have had the Curve for the last year or so and love it. But I am going to get the Droid on Friday because I'm a techie and love to try out new stuff, and I haven't seen anything recently that has made me want to get rid of the Curve. If all the reviews hold true, the Droid has a very promising future. I think it ultimately comes down to your personal preference. Do you want a touch screen? If you don't need a physical keyboard, then I'd say go for the Storm2 or HTC Imagio. If a touch screen doesn't matter, then I'd go with the Tour.
I hate getting early release electronics, I learned my lesson with the iphone 3gs, kept freezing, 3 phones can not be an accident, so I cancelled the service. Plus at&t is so spotty everywhere I go, I was like this is 3g net? really? Freaking slow.

I love everything the tour has to offer except its damn track ball. Its keys are perfect cause my fingers are so small But I am wondering since you are a techy I hate navigating most web post for such info. But do you know if the Tour is going to come out soon with a similar optic in place of the ball? or whatever its call thats on the newer curve and bolds?

I have multiple phones simply cause of various people I talk to and their diff plans, that and my dads company spots me so verizon, tmob, sprint right now. I hate at&t. Crappy most of the time, awesome some of it. imo and use. And I am pretty geeky in playing with new toys. From comps to weapons, tools to makeup products but I am a bit rough with my things so I like having stuff that can perform and are durable.

And yes I love my blackberrys. I actually have every cell device I've ever owned, when they die or service expires I just keep them. Let me know how you like the droid!

Thats what I was thinking to, cause I always buy my phones and then if I feel like trying another model I just buy out another. But for the Droid I may wait.

Yes!!!! I love you! Thank you! That gave me some glimmer of happy thought for today, besides walking around looking at all the cars lol.

Cause I hate the track ball

usually jams, and its hard to use one handedly when running errands cause my hands are so small. :( if there is a trackpad? I can just brush it with my finger yay!

What an awesome day!

lol. sounded way to happy right there!

Maybe, but I highly doubt it. The Tour just launched a couple months ago and VZW & RIM are generally very slow to introduce new models.

The Pre is coming to VZW "early next year" according to a tweet from VZW themselves. But, I have a feeling that after the Droid launches, even though the Pre is a great phone it will not look nearly as attractive.
The Pre feels weird in my grips, Hmmm...but the droid does look tempting, but then again iphone may be coming to verizon! and then again...tour may get trackpad and wifi...damn it.....

True. But I dont like the performance and service of at&t. In my old hs's parking lot? iphone 3gs loading same image as blackberry tour....bb loads far quicker, and the iphone only seemed to be downloading, it never did load. Among other things like you tube, or the scream would refuse to switch sideways etc. Bugged me :( but if it came to verizon I could be on my fav network and have the toy factor of the iphone. Cause I really do play alot with my gizmos. I'm not even a kid anymore and I still play with a gameboy dsi. Addicted to puzzle games and brain teasers. hehe.

So do I. To be wasteful and a bitch to my last 3gs that kept acting retarded, I ran it over with my 69s back wheel to kill it and add it to my collection of dead phones I have.
