You have to realize that making fun of a state that has a higher gun to person ratio than it does a car to person ratio is dangerous.

Reasons why Texas is better.. And these are facts.

ONLY state flag that can be flown as same height as the US flag
ONLY state where its citizens serving in military can take leave of absence to defend State if under attack

and of course the Texas State Motto... Shoot 'em all and let God sort them out.

I was trying. Knowing that this type of pissing contest thread might need a way to spin off to the lighter side

Even though I am a born n breed Ohioan I consider myself a tri-Texan

1 Ohio defended the Alamo
2 My GreatGrandpa n family was from Texas
3 Hank Hill says all you gotta do is change planes in Dallas and your a Texan

All I can say if you don't like Texas visit Mexico, thats a real BLEEPhole if you go outside the tourist traps. Got family in Zapata right off the lake. Well till the lvl went down, use to be able to fish from the back yard, now its 200yds away.

As for the second part I could'nt find anything verifying or denying that, but I bet it is'nt a fact either.

Texas flag only one at same height as U.S. flag (urban legend)
The Texas flag often is placed on a flagpole at the same height as the U.S. flag on its flagpole, and it’s sometimes said that Texas is the only state that can do this. The explanation given is that Texas—unlike other states—was a Republic when in entered the Union. A (licensed?) tour guide of the Texas capital city of Austin tells this on his tours.

It is an urban legend. All states can fly a state flag at the same height as the United States flag. However, if both flags are on the same flagpole, the U.S. flag code states that the United States flag must be on top.

This urban legend has been spread by word of mouth for many years, but started appearing on the internet by at least 1994 on lists such as “useless facts” and “Texas facts.”
