The previous generation of Commodore (VE) had more options in terms of styling than what we got with the G8. This generation (VF) doesn't differ much from the SS. They've left the styling cues to HSV for this generation.

There are some bits from HSV that if you can get them would really wake up the SS in terms of styling. But even as it is the 2017 model is a huge improvement over what the SS originally started as. The OP got a great car and in 10 years it'll still look great.

Thanks all!!

I was semi-surprised when I had to pay a gas guzzler tax, it was only then I realized it had the LS3, not the L99 I had in the 2011 Camaro, but I do appreciate having all 8 cylinders all the time!!

Hate may have been a strong word, but it does "blend in" with the family sedan crowd, which is good for my wife's right foot... however...the red hot paint job might not help though!!!

On another note, I looked over the HSV website, but didn't see an "HSV Commodore", so how do I figure out what model does it become when it is upgraded by HSV?

The SS is nice, but the styling is quite bland for a performance sedan IMHO. I'd love to have one as my DD, but living in PA, it isn't logical. A RWD car and typical PA winters don't mix.

As of right now, the Commodore sedan-based HSV models are the GTS line and the Senator Signature.

Nice ride. The idea of the SS is awesome I just can't get past the styling.

I would look at the GTS or GTSR lineup. If you could get ahold of the rear spoiler for either of those along with the front splitter and side-skirts, that would really set the car off. I can't imagine HSV would sell anything for the GTSR or W1 at all without proof of a vin for that particular vehicle. You might be able to find some GTS bits though.

Coming from a Holden-ized GTO (which I still have for now), I was looking at the Chevy SS vs. Camaro 2SS. It was a hard choice, but ultimately I'm happy with the Camaro. I got the 2SS for roughly the same price as the discounted SS.

The GTO...

I love my 14 and love the understated aggressive look of the way the fenders flare out. The car handles great and with a little mild tweeking the power is very good. With just intake, exhaust and good tune it puts down 390rwhp and 395rwtq through an A6 trans. Also the car gets a ton of looks and thumbs up !!!
