Can't do Scotch anymore. Too light and earthy tasting.

Now, I drink only Bourbon.

So far, I've got some Yellowstone, Breckenridge, Blanton's and one that I am saving, Knob Creek 2001 Batch #2.

I had a short kick for scotch and since I didn't like the flavor after a few months of not drinking it, I've got a The Macallan 12 year that is 90% full collecting dust. Kind of a waste being a $60 bottle and all.

When I can, I get mine from my future son-in-law down south. It's clear and comes in a mason jar.

I'm pretty straight forward with mine, I have been drinking Bird Dog Apple Whiskey, but my go to favorite is good ole Jack Daniels.

And she's right.

Whiskey, you're the devil, you're leadin' me astray
Over hills and mountains and to Americae
You're sweeter, stronger, decenter, you're spunkier than tae
O whiskey, you're my darlin' drunk or sober

Oh, now, brave boys, we're on the march and off to Portugal and Spain
The drums are beating, banners flying, the devil ahome will come tonight
Love, fare thee well, with me tithery eye the doodelum the da
Me tithery eye the doodelum the da, Me rikes fall tour a laddie oh
There's whiskey in the jar. Hey!

Whiskey, you're the devil, you're leadin' me astray
Over hills and mountains and to Americae
You're sweeter, stronger, decenter, you're spunkier than tae
O whiskey, you're my darlin' drunk or sober

Said the mother: "Do not wrong me, don't take my daughter from me
For if you do I will torment you, and after death a ghost will haunt ye"
Love, fare thee well, with me tithery eye the doodelum the da
Me tithery eye the doodelum the da, Me rikes fall tour a laddie oh
There's whiskey in the jar. Hey!

Whiskey, you're the devil, you're leadin' me astray
Over hills and mountains and to Americae
You're sweeter, stronger, decenter, you're spunkier than tae
O whiskey, you're my darlin' drunk or sober

The French are fighting boldly, men dying hot and coldly
Gives ev'ry man his flask of powder, his farlock on his shoulder, ah,
Love, fare thee well, with me tithery eye the doodelum the da
Me tithery eye the doodelum the da, Me rikes fall tour a laddie oh
There's whiskey in the jar. Hey!

Whiskey, you're the devil, you're leadin' me astray
Over hills and mountains and to Americae

I own a liquor store so I get to try a lot of booze. Blanton's is great but Buffalo Trace is very close and much cheaper. Both are somewhat difficult to get, even for me.

I was blessed with (1) bottle of Rip Van Winkle, but I have already agreed to sell it to someone who will appreciate it more than me.

Old Forester 100 Proof "Bottled in Bond" is excellent and easy to get, but somewhat overpriced at $50. Old Forester makes other bourbons but they are not as good as the BOB.

Wow.. if that stuff is hard to get, I can't imagine how hard it must be to get the high end bourbon.

It depends on the distributor in that area, and what they would normally carry. If it's not a high sale item in that area, they aren't going to carry it since it's just a dust collector for them... flies of the floor, they'll stock it.

I have been looking locally from blanton's special reserve and gold edition. I find it strange we can get American Whiskey here in America but I can get just about any bottle over seas. haha

Rip Van Winkle is the most elusive whiskey in America. Extremely rare to find and if sold at a high end bar it cost about $100 a glass.
