I'd be patient and get what you really want. If you impulse buy or settle, you'll be dissapointed in the long run.
This guy is in college??

Anyway, take it from me (look at the signature... ok, now look at what I'm driving now) - DO NOT impulse buy, and don't buy before you know for sure what you're actual income is going to be. Once you figure out what your income will be look at ALL your other bills, then add in your estimated car payment (estimate high just to be safe). With all those added up, you should have at least a good chunk of money that you can save and a little to spend on fun stuff. If not, then you can't afford the car, plain and simple. And it'll hurt for a long time if you have to trade in your Camaro because you were dumb and couldn't afford the payments (again, TRUST me )

impulse buy or wait and get exactly what i want
Here's my suggestion.

Drive the V6.

Then drive the V8.

Then drive the V6 again.

The reason I say that is that no matter what you salesman tells you, the V6 doesn't feel like a V8. Its fast like most V8s of yesteryear (about as fast as a stock LT1) but the LS3/L99 will easily overshadow it. That said, the power in the V6 is good. More than enough to be fun, while the LS3 can at times feel like you're hanging on for dear life. The LLT is much smoother - buttery, almost.

Personally, I think both are awesome cars. The only way to decide for sure it to drive both and make your decision based on that. Is it worth the extra cost/the extra wait? Don't forget to factor in the increased gas costs (more gallons * more expensive per gallon = greatly increased fuel costs), more expensive service, etc. If it's worth it, then get the V8. Otherwise get the V6.
