im surprised theres no cage or fire suit. most of the manufacturer runs have all kinds of safety equipment.

This was the 'Sedan Class' record, not the track record. The track time for this lap is about 30th fastest overall. The '16 Z06 did a 7:08. The '14 Z28 did a 7:37 and it's faster now also.

Where did you find this info? I don't see the 16 Z06 anywhere on the top 100 list nor can I find a new time for the Z/28. Got a link? The Google has failed me.

AFAIK the records for all GM stuff from 2014+ hasn't been officially released due to the 'rings "Pay to show" rule.

It's probably from some unoffical source.
