GM is an American company, no matter where the car is built or what nationality of the person who designed it, the car represent America's core values.."America is all about speed. Some of us more than others. My family came here less than 3 generations ago (my great grandpa and his family immigrated from Germany during the WWII era).

P.S. - But it amounts to the same thing in the end.

I agree with you that Chevy is a symbol of America's core values, so imagine my chagrin when Toyota fanboys give me crap about buying an American symbol made in another country (or, as you stated, several if you break down individual parts). Besides, isn't the whole idea behind the "Buy American" movement to create (or maintain) US based jobs and revenue? Again, I don't have a problem with my car having been made in Canada, I bought it, and I love it. I do, however, think the people of the US would have more faith in a company that's spent gazillions of dollars on advertising that appeals to Main Street USA if the products they sell were made here. Just saying. Now I'm going to join up, and promise myself that I'm going to make more of an effort to "Buy American" rather than just picking up the most convenient item and throwing it in the buggy at the grocery store.

I am also going to try to get a ton of links to websites and companies that sell American Made products. And I am asking others to post the same. Together we all can make a difference!!

Sorry to hear that. Please don't take offense, none intended. As a matter of fact, I was wondering if you guys have the same issue with jobs being outsourced to other countries? I think the ones that really do bother me are the factories that set up shop in third world countries so they can pay a disgustingly low wage for labor then ship the products back here and charge us an arm and a leg. All the while their CEOs are making multi-million dollar bonuses and our economy is tanking. Go figure.

Chevrolet was named after a French Race car driver....Louis Chevrolet. The bowtie was found on wallpaper in a hotel room in Paris, France....FYI.

But if you get technical with that, then Toyota, BMW, and Honda would be considered American Cars because they have plants in U.S.?
