Sure, I've been suckered into buying the swap meet crap...and I've learned I guess. EVERY shirt with a GM logo on it that I've bought has had this "wonderful" little tag on it that says "licensed by General Motors"...so yes I don't buy anything without seeing the license.

I guess I'm missing out on buying some real cool sh*t by not buying from someone that skirts the laws huh? I bet you go down to the flea market to buy your wife/girlfriend Gucci or Brighton products...or maybe you go buy the cheap, non-uv (sure they claim to be) sunglasses from the guy hawking them at the mall with the promise "these are just as good as xxx brand."

This is a case of someone either unintentionally or intentionally skirting copyright and trademark laws. If the OP did this unitentionally, she should follow through with getting licensed with GM and make amends for her prior sales.

Unfortunately, the reason that many choose not to become licensed is they are 1)failing to report all their income and licensing would cause a money trail, 2)selling goods that won't meet the demands of the licensing company, or 3)selling crap that is produced by some sweatshop in a third world that has no safety features or concern for their employees.

I'm not saying this is the case with StickerWitch...I like to believe that she falls into the category of not knowing the law...and that she will right what has happened.

Another thing...anyone that is crazy enough to post something unlicensed on this website is asking for a call from GM...

Everyone loves to brag about how many people from GM participate or observe this board...don't you think they might be willing to pick up the phone and call the GM legal department to protect their company's investment? There may even be an incentive program within GM...I know some companies have them that rewards employees for locating things like copyright and trademark infringement.

Licensing/approval to use GM trademarks is quite a process, but worth doing. We had to go through the process to use GM trademarks for the SSOA, as a not for profit enthusiast club.

Yes, that's what I'm hearing. I have settled everything with GM, they were more than fair and very nice.

I was very happy with my order from you on the bow ties for the center of my wheels. Sorry to hear a few spoil it all for us. I hope you get the right papers to get back on ebay I have some friends that really like the yellow bow tie and I told them who I got them from and now they will have to wait.

I'm in the process of getting a website up and running to sell what I've got...nothing with any trademarks though :0) Have some new, great stuff for your garage wall and toolboxes too!! You won't see these anywhere else! Side effects of living with a car obsessed and very "Camaro Obsessed" man :0)

www.thestickerwitch.com is now up and running! And I am in the beginning stages of obtaining licensing from GM, it could take a few months. Unfortunately my sales projections are lower because Ebay will not let me sell for a long while unless GM contacts them directly (which I'm not banking on). But everything else is available on my site right now, and when I can, all the trademarked items will be available as well. I am only set up through paypal, but they accept all major credit cards so I'm hoping that's enough. In the mean time take a look, tell your friends...it can take months for a site to show up in search engines so for right now I'm running on word of mouth. If you need something customized please email me.

Hope you get the license quickly enough. We the people all own GM now since it is Government owned. If you want to create stickers for the car, it should be allowed. Creating stickers and such that give free promotion to the car seems like something positive for continuing sales as well and helps stimulate the economy. Same if you want to make a flag pin or sell a Statue of Liberty Statue in my opinion. So the Government in the end will get a share of the sales as well as get you again in taxes for the items. The Government knows how to take our money..
