So, you think it is overkill? I can see partial fenders but; I think full hood. Rocks to fly up there and you do not see the seam with the full hood. I was looking at siyes and pricing 3M. The have cutouts for the bumper, full hood and fenders and I'm sure you can get mirrors. For the bumpers and full hood and fenders customer price for mkaterial 557.40. That price is not for professionals which they probably get a discount. I agree with you, I was quoted for allot of coverage but; the installer was making a nice profit. The price blew me out of the water because; if you read these threads many are stating they are getting full coverage from 750.00 to 1500. As far as 3M vs Venture Shield which 3M owns now. Other than the orange peel it seems 3M is the more durable product over the long haul. The installer also mentioned Venture Shield to me. Sang it's praises when I balked. He then said; it does cloud after a few years. In any case thanks for the info! Much appreciated! |

So, give me your final recommendation on what I should do. Please any language or info I would need to know when getting a quote from an installer.
So, are you saying Venture Shield over 3M? What doe their lifetime warranty really include or should I say not include and conditions. Does Venture Shield look better than 3M? What is the difference with the Ultra? Does Venture Shield have a clear coat on it? Thanks again for your time and patients. |

Has anyone heard of XPEL and what is their opinion on that?
Here is a link that compares pros and cons of 3M, Venture Shield Ultra and XPEL http://www.guardlineppf.com/Product_Compare.aspx |

http://************.com/Gallery-1.html At the bottom of that link there are two pictures showing 3M and VentureShield side by side on a black Viper GTS. I think it will be very obvious what the difference is between the two films. Xpel seems to look good initially but they are having some problems with the gloss on the film fading quickly. Not sure why... and maybe they will get that fixed. I personally am not a fan of their film... but their kits are excellent. |

VentureShield can scuff... but if you are careful with it you will not have any problems. In fact just treat like you treat your paint and you will be fine. Dont use anything abrasive on it and no isopropyl alchohol/rubbing the surface. Other than that it looks great and is durable. Xpel... well while they make great patterns, the one issue I have with them besides the finish lasting is the company itself. Their stock is now a penny stock and the company could fold... as far as making film goes. If that happens then bye bye warranty. Just something to consider when choosing films. 3M and VentureShield are strong financially... so I highly doubt they will ever close. Well 3M will never close... in the words of Obama (LMAO) they are too big to fail. Hope this helped out a little. |
