Great interview! Thank you for the link!
Same, haha! Tadge does have to come up with some new beast or renewal, fast and soon! As far as I can tell, AO grabbed the torch that Tadge and his team has lite up in 2014 with C7 and taken it way further haha. |

My reaction will be the same whether it's 640-650, which is perfectly fine, content, and way more than needed. But if they bring out a 665+hp terror, yeah that'll be what gets my panties in a bunch .

BTW, the ZL1 and 1LE were never badge only cars so that makes them the purest models in the Camaro line.

Nice video. I guarantee you that they know the horsepower of that motor before it went into the car. It's not like GM doesn't own an engine dyno. They just want to keep everyone on their heels until it is official. I'm more concerned on pricing.

Agreed! They know exactly what the numbers are but they don't have their SAE cert yet so they will have to wait to announce it officially. I am very curious if they slapped on the TRI-Y headers though. Which will add about 5-6 more HP over the C7 exhaust manifold + headers setup. As for pricing... I wouldn't really hope for anything below 65k lol.

Yeah I'm thinking it will come in around 62k to 65k. It would be awesome if they announce it to have around 675hp. I'm thinking it will get a slight bump to around 660hp.

I'm right there with you. I'm REALLY hoping it starts at $62k and $65k will get you the 10 speed and PDR. That's about my cutoff point. If it comes in with those options at close to $70k it's a 1SS 1LE for me which will save me $20k at leat

Now is the time for Chevy to make a statement with the ZL1 HP numbers! It is the 50th anniversary, what better time! People that love Vettes will still buy a Vette even if its less HP.

Just a guess but I wonder if they aren't releasing much more info just so they don't get trumped by a new GT5 or something. Smart move if so seeing how the last 500 was announced shortly after Ihe gen5 Z

As far as pricing goes, I think they will keep the same formula there as well. Generally speaking the philosophy is, "if you could afford the last generation...you can afford this one." Given what we've seen thus far, tack on another 5K from the base 2015, and that's where it will be. The great thing, however is the value equation. If 100K is out of range for a Z06, you can get pretty close with this car for about $30K less. |
