Well s*it the bed. That answered my questions pretty quick.

I thought the Denali/Escalade argument was the other way around. Then again the average Escalade driver...

We're car enthusiasts. We're more than willing to replace our GMCs with Chevys because we're loyal to GM, not any specific brand. Many other people (who aren't necessarily car people) are unwilling to have to go to another brand (just look how hard it is to get people away from their toyondassans).

Plus, many GMC owners buy GMCs because they like the styling and design over the equivalent Chevrolet models. Spend a few months on a board like GMI where GMC is discussed to hell and back, and you'll find a few guys who would rather go to Ford or Dodge than trade in their Sierra for a Silverado...

No, Regal is on SWB Epsilon II. It'll slot below LaCrosse (LWB Epsilon II), which will serve as Buick's new flagship. LaCrosse replaces Lucerne, Regal replaces last-gen LaCrosse in a way. Astra (Delta-II) will slot in below Regal.

Perhaps...but they still sell thousands of units a month with little to no extra development (R&D MONEY) over their Chevrolet counterparts.

Well that's just because the new Silverado looks like sh!t. If they put the front clip of a Tahoe on it, they'd be lining up....

If the Suburban (future sole-surviving GM full-sized SUV?) absorbed some the Yukon's upgrades and the Silverado absorbed some of the Sierra's upgrades...I can't see why people wouldn't buy them. They are essentially the same vehicle. GM will eventually need to weed-out all the repetition in their product lines. Financial reality.

GM thought the same thing when they canned Oldsmobile.

I would assume they don't want to go down that road again.

As long as you didn't buy this thing...

GMC is also Chevrolet's heavy truck division (ie topkick 6500s and such). So even if they got rid of Denali's- you'd really still need GMC for the commercial vehicles. Everyone forgets that GMC has a huge commercial truck operation lol.

Actually, Chevrolet had their own commercial truck division, but that's irrelevant. GM has pulled out of the commercial truck market altogether, a decision I personally think is stupid.

However, you are correct in the fact that GMC still has a large fleet presence in that GM still offers the Sierra, Canyon, and Yukon as commercial fleet vehicles.
