Not even close to the same and it came back without changing the principal it was built on.

Resurrection of options of years ago must be done with reason and some form of honor and link to the past. Simply slapping a badge on something and calling it a GNX is lazy. They need to link it to a very special, one-off, option that is like no other. Something worthy of the nameplate. And I can't see them getting it right with GNX.

And somehow reviving the Grand National requires changing the principal it was built on?

I would expect pricing to be closer to ATS-V range if it's got the same amount of HP. Not 40k, maybe 55k if it were true... which I'm skeptical about

lol if you honestly think GTO was a Grand Prix with a bigger engine.

And what Dodge did to Charger has been pretty damn successful so...

And lets not forget that the immediate predecessor to this Charger:

were these front wheel drive 4 cylinder Chargers from the 80s:

The GN is one of my all time favorite cars. It looked mean, drove mean, and just was nasty. I had set out to buy one while in the service in 1987 but the price tag of $17,500 was just out of reach, so I ended up with a new Mustang GT, I always regretted not buying one. Anyone who was into hotrods back in the 80s knows what these cars were all about, it really was amazing that compared to the Camaro, Mustang GT, and Corvette of the time this Buick could pound all of them.

Another thing... the picture of the "concept" so many people got excited about (because it's a damn good looking car I'll admit) was just a photoshop. I've yet to see a GM concept of it, I'm hopeful but extremely doubtful the GN will make a comeback anytime soon if ever.

I had a GNX back in '87. Kept it for a few years and sold it for more than I paid for it new. Wish I still had it.

Funny thing is I still have the GNX owner's manual. Couldn't find it when selling the car and just came across it recently. Now I just need to find someone with a GNX that needs the manual. Pretty cool manual, talks about the ceramic turbo impeller, ladder bar suspension, chassis bracing...

That car was bad ass.

I think a low production GNX and GN would be great for Buick recognition in America if nothing else. Make both 2 door, black and powered by a LF3 for the GN and LF4 for the GNX. Price the GNX $10k below the the ATS-V with a cloth interior and less interior options but have it use the same brakes, engine and transmission with mag ride being optional as well as other interior and other such options being optional. Price the GN with the LF3 about 5k less than a SS. Off course both need to make a bold statement in the looks department. They could also make a 2.0T rwd/awd Regal and call it a t type and offered in any color 2-4 doors. That would essentially be a ATS but they would need to price it at least $5k below a ATS with less interior refinement and base options. If you have ever driven a 2.0 ATS you would see that its a fantastic car but the entry price for one is out of alot of peoples budgets. What that would do is get people into dealerships. Hardly anyone thinks about a Buick when car shopping. I know when I helped my Mother and sister find a car I never even once thought about a Buick and I'm a car guy. If GM built a GNX it would get the brand the recognition it needs to get people thinking about Buick when they are looking for a new car. Even if they broke even with profits with the GN/GNX I think it might help overall profits and sales.
