It wasn't until the 1LE option appeared that people started acting like the Camaro was always "really" intended for that. It was an adaptation due to the Camaro falling short in its traditional role.

The ZL1 when it came out as a MY 2012 was faster than the (at the time) current GT500. Also the 1LE came out after the ZL1, utilizing some trickle down technology and things they learned from the ZL1 to make an SS handle better. To say the ZL1 wasn't originally created with great handling in mind is foolish. However being an owner of a 2010 Camaro prior to my ZL1, I will agree that handling was definitely not a focal point until MY 2012 with the move to the FE4 suspension.

I remember the days when saying the hellcat was a good car and very capable of handling its weight and power would get you beat up in this forum. Hahaha

Good to see people have managed to not kill someone who speaks well of a car that's not made ny GM.

I would love to add a Hellcat to the stable. Hopefully next year, if all goes well.
They are really nice cars and they have the suspension set up/track set up you can really dial in on the Performance Pages is the SRT pages.
Good read. Thanks for posting.

Hellcats are ok I guess. They're like Z06s to me. Nice cars, very much respect, but don't have that "schwiiing!" factor like the Camaro.

Sorry, not my cup of tea. Doesn't even come in a convertible, which is sad. I'd bet that would have sold a lot more of them.

SRT has been rumored to be testing Gen-II Hellcats for MY18 with even higher HP.

I can't imagine what trans they will use for those things.
