FCA’s goal from the May 2014 Investor Day: to have 95% of total volume from five platforms...

Mini: three cars, probably all Fiat
B-Wide: four cars, probably three Fiats (or two Fiats plus Chrysler 100) plus Jeep Renegade
Compact Wide (CUSW): Dart, Viaggio, Cherokee, 200, Giulietta
Large: three cars, probably Challenger, Charger, and 300; Ghibli and Quattroporte share quite a bit but for the moment, probably for political and “snob appeal” reasons, are not mentioned
Body-on-frame: two vehicles, possibly both Ram trucks

Don't think it will be a big problem. A TTV6 requires a lot of space for plumbing. The Hellcat engine actually looks "smallish" in the Challenger's engine bay. Think they will have more trouble "shoehorning" the Dodge buyer who currently loves the size of the current gen.

I feel that this won't spawn a challenger...

New Alfa Romeo Giulia 510 hp tt V6

I have always owned an Alfa, and still do. They were very sucessful in the prewar WW2 years with many GP championships. After the war the company was absorbed by the Italian government, and forced to make cars for the masses. In the 50's they were very sucessfull with the 159 1.5 liter supercharged, twin cam straight 8, producing 435 hp at 9300 rpm. While they made some great cars that competed in many forms of racing, their last major succeses were the world championship in 75 and also 1977. The last real dominance they had was in the DTM in the 90's with the insane NA 2.5 liter V6 producing 480 hp at 11500 rpm. Now owned by Fiat, the management has greenlit a skunkworks team to put them back on the map after years of mismanagement. Aligned closer to Maserati, and Ferrari, here is the new 3 liter twin turbo V6 rear wheel drive Alfa Giulia.

Strange how a thread I started turned into someone else's ......but anyway.

No this is not the base engine, and the car with this package will compete with the BMW M3 and be priced close to that. The car is small and close to 3000 lbs. It will be a close match for the current ZL1, with a 0 to 60.of 3.8 seconds. I expect a 70,000 price tag for the version as shown in the video. The car in the video was developed by a special team so I doubt they will pass off the best parts off to other divisions. There is use of exotic materials and carbon brakes in this version. It is not going to be in the 40,000 range.

As the above poster I don't expect everyone to like the brand. Here is some racing heritage history.

First up is the Alfetta 159. It was designed before WW2, but became successful after the war. It decimated F1 for most of the 50's. Amazing engine sound. 1.5 liters double supercharged straight 8 with about 425 HP at 9300 rpm. WARNING this is loud so you may want to turn your speakers down a bit.

Next up is the GTAM based off of the GTV production. Twin can, twin spark, sliding block mechanical injection. Power is about 250 hp out of a motor designed for production cars in the 50's. The displacement is 1750cc and is N/A.

Next is the Typo 33 World sports championship car with a flat 12. It is 3 liters and is NA, output is 500 hp. It wiped the fields in both the 75 and 77 seasons.

Honorable mention of the F1 179 car. Financially backed by the government Alfa never had many successes in 70'80"s F1 although the did win a few races in them. As a side note they developed the fan car which used fans underneath the car to suck it to the ground. It stomped the competition and was immediately banned from competition following the race. Here is an engine warm up.

Here is the insane 155 DTM that took the championship in 93. Powered by a 2.5 N/A liter engine providing 480 HP at 11500 rpm.

Here is a hillclimb street circuit with epic sound.

Here is what is would be like onboard.

Some may not like them, but be prepared to see taillights unless your rolling something fast. I would be happy to park the new Giulia next to the ZL1.
