Some may hate on this idea, but you can spend an hour or so at CarMax and see what they offer. You don't have to take it, but most likely they use the same 'black book' that Mr_Draco mentioned.

I just sold a '97 Acura Integra there that a dealer wouldn't give me 300 bucks for. (they gave me 2k).

CarMax is the best place for older vehicles but for newer vehicles they tend to low ball you worse than the dealers.
