This will either be moved, locked, or deleted. Waiting for the latter.

You can put a Vitesse Throttle Controller thread in ANY forum and not have it moved. What's up with that?

There are constantly threads here that should go under different sub-forums, but don't get moved... and then a few just get randomly chosen and moved, while the others stay. There's no consistency. Seems sometimes like someone's had a rough day and then goes buck wild moving threads off the first page. Wait a bit - its not going to hurt the forum, the people here who read, or those who search for things... but ah well. Not my place, I'm only a guest here. Not the end of the world lol.
No consistency is right. I can look at the first page right now and see a couple threads that were moved and other threads that should be moved but are not. Some subjects on the forum are so strict and others especially in this section are the opposite of strict. A lot of threads should be deleted immediately. This general discussion section is silly and juvenile.

What bothers Me is when the site is down as it has been and We never get an explanation as to why. It's never even addressed by the Mods.

Personally, I wouldn't mind if the mods just deleted threads posted in the wrong forums. They have asked and asked and asked that people post in the correct forums, yet people (usually new folks) continue to post in the wrong ones. If they were to delete enough incorrectly posted threads immediately (and have an auto-generated email sent to the OP), people would learn real quickly not to do it.
Especially if it's subject is what the best CAI or headers are.

I read it for the silly and juvenile. If I want to read something useful, I go to the tech sections.

What I love are the guys who call others trolls and you never see them in tech. The idea of most of these sites is to help each other by putting what we know in an organized format. Not sure how much car help can be provided outside of tech. Although I will provide psychoanalysis when the opportunity presents itself, I would not think that is why people come to a car forum.

No, we wouldn't have seen it.

At least, you wouldnt have received as much thread volume/views.

It would be cool if every single thread started on the General forum. Before making the thread, there would be a required forum selection to categorize your thread as. This would then post the thread to the specific forum it belongs in, but is still VIEWABLE from the General forum. Kind of like a smart-redirect.

Probably not. That's why there seems to be a general leniency to posting in the general forums. Your thread will get the highest visibility here. Some of the other subforums are people where people post only when the need something. The general and off topic forums are where people hangout.

Yep. That's a great idea... like before posting you have to select from a drop down what 'category' it goes under. This will save time and head-aches for the Mods for sure.

Now that's thinking outside the box!
