That is kind of surprising. I thought people were horrible drivers in the snow here but that's a whole new level there. Also surprising to hear about people not putting chains on the drive wheels. You'd think they were smarter...

Why not just use snow tires with or without spikes? Probably a little better traction.

Pics like the Xterra amaze me. I grew up in New England and drove FWD and RWD cars. No chains, no sand bags, no 4WD, no snow tires... A few slides off the road, but never anything even close to wrecks.
I got stuck in a blizzard in Flagstaff AZ once with my daily driver (Mazda3) on summer performance tires and was doing better than people with chains.

Guess some people just don't know how to drive...

(The Xterra has been in my neighbor's yard since Tuesday, the Neon has been sitting in HIS neighbor's yard since Wednesday evening.... too icy to move these damn things, so the road looks like Beirut, circa 1982!). Maybe the tow company can get them out in June or July...

Still chilly... note the 15 degrees on my display (things HAVE warmed up significantly since yesterday, but I didn't get pics of those single digit numbers...). And don't judge me for "Kajagoogoo..." I can't help it if the 80s on 8 runs that through every now and then!

ChevyGirl661, what kind of temps are you getting in Bake? Gotta be COLD farther north of me.... kind of a concern with so much agriculture and livestock uot there. I suppose there's not a lot a lot of susceptible crops right now, but these deep chills can still have an impact on things...

It has been about 28-32 in the mornings!! I get up at 4am for work (I work from home, but its still cold as hell) and its FREEZING. Right now it is 48 which is still too cold for me. I'm a baby...LOL.
