What was the resolution on this p0340 code. I just installed a new cam and springs and threw this immediately.
I pulled the sensor from the timing cover, ohmed it out good. Nothing was making contact. car drives fine. no long starts. Should I just tune this code out so it never comes back? |

I have seen several times where the bolts come loose on the cam sprocket.
Anytime components are replaced a "Crankshaft Variation Learn" procedure is recommended.

The bolts could back out and would not contact the cam position sensor. Maybe the timing chain is off a tooth.

Also you want to check the electrical connection at the harness that has been the problem for some...

I know this is an old thread but here goes anyway... is there a manual relearn procedure? I just totally rebuilt a 2013 LS3 and it runs fine for about 5 miles and starts skipping/misfiring. compression fine, injectors fine, coil pack fine, all plugs are firing, so I think it's the cam sensor.
