True, but I'd still rather have the GT just for looks alone. The Corvette is a beautiful car, but the GT is a supermodel.

If they make it, it will be expensive, and it will sell.

What blows me away is that Camilo can design the GT and now this prototype GT, but puts together that crappy looking Camaro on MCM.

And the Z06 and ZR1 have also matched or bested Ferrari's on the track too. But they don't have that "supercar" appeal. The GT does.

How do you justify this situation to yourself?

Mustangs are my favorite car through and through, but i think i would trade my Shelby in straight up for a GT...

Whats this called? Denial? Do i really like the GT more bit won't admit it?

Ive only seem 3 or 4 in person, but they're just freaking mind blowing every time.

I have seen 2 in person. 1 was behind a velvet rope at my local dealer. The other was driving around town. I literally almost drove off the road because I was so distracted by it. It truly is a gorgeous car

The GT had an exotic feel that no Corvette has ever had (yet). The 'vette does many things very well, but the amount of raw appeal the GT has is hard to match.

It is just

Now I love Corvettes, mind blowing performance and value that most Americans can obtain if they save and work hard (At least at Stingray levels, Z06 and up are a different story)
However, as has been the case at the local Portland Cars-N-Coffee..when a GT shows up Corvettes might as well have not bothered, they're invisible.

It's all about presence..the GT has it on lock..the Corvette? Not so much.

One thing to keep in mind about the Ford GT is that when it was introduced (2005-2006) there was not a Corvette or Viper that could touch it. Very, very quickly that changed. The Z06 and ZR1 were introduced after it ended production.

2005-on GT at its price point and very limited numbers has guaranteed instant appreciation for its value AND its occasional sightings.

Winning Le Mans, first time out, is a stretch, as it was for the original. If the plan is to debut AND win in '16 (50th Anniversary of its first win but NOT its first entry), I'll put my money on the "against" bet.

I took delivery of my first C6 Z06 just before Christmas of '05 and, unfortunately, never had the chance to go head-to-head with a GT. There weren't any owners in my neighborhood that were interested. They might have got them dirty.

If Ford makes it look like the abomination in the artist's rendering, it will be a huge mistake.

Small changes to the Ford GT. Small. Don't Diablo the damned thing up. The GT40 is still one of the sexiest designs ever made. Sexier than a Miura. For the love of all that is holy, don't F this up, Ford. All you have to do is not step on your wiener.
