I think it has to do with the icon that was the 5.0 Liter Mustang. Not since we switched from stardard to metric displacement figures have u really ever heard a lot of ppl referring to car models based on the displacement in liters. For example, not many ppl would ever say i drive a 5.7 liter (4th gen f-body)...but ppl did say '5 liter' (mustang), because it sounds good. For that reason I think Ford should make it 5.0 and not the 5.4 to bring back the icon.
