Well it will certianly beat my Saab with over two hundred HP and a lot less weight...not to mention it will be my first rear wheel drive car, but I've had my license for over three years now and managed to stay out of bad situations. I'll just take it easy to begin with and learn the car. And since I'm planning to keep it for a loooong time I'm gonna make sure to know it bumper to bumper.

This will be my first powerful car. It will also be my first V8. For training, tonight I will be rolling through Lawrence in my buddy's 4th generation RS. I'll provide more feedback after my RWD experience.

I have a 210hp Liberty and all my family has ever owned (up 'til my sister's Cobalt) are V8s in the form of Tahoes/Yukons. My dad had an 84 Z28, it had the HO engine in it but I'm not sure what hp it put out. I have driven a lot of RWD or 4WD
I'm kinda hoping the Z28 will be the base V8 then I can just throw the SS appearance package on it because, well, I like hood scoops (I'm an aerospace engineer, we all like scoops and inlets and diffusers and wings and stuff like that). By the time I save up enough dough for it, it will probably be 2014 (plus I will be over 25 by then and get a break on insurance), which works out nice since it will be like a 30 year homage to my dad and his Z28

Apparently, I handled my buddy's 1996 Camaro RS very well. I've never driven a RWD car before, but I felt at home in those leaning seats staring down a long, stripped hood. After a few donuts and spinning wheels, we headed down to an empty road. I love the power. He said I wasn't driving it like it's meant to be driving most of the time since I was afraid to wreck my buddy's ride, but the power felt good and I'm sure I would get used to it like any other car. Safety is always the most important thing, and I don't plan on showing off my Camaro when I get one by doing any stupid stunts. The Zeta Camaro is beautiful, so no stunts are necessary.
Overall, more horsepower is always dangerous, but those of us who love cars like we do should learn to drive it carefully. I'm sure my above story about tonight sounds a little reckless, but I'm not going to elaborate on my slow turns or cautious acceleration, but I will tell you that until I know a car, I don't push it. When I get my V8 Camaro, I won't drive it fast unless I'm at a track. That's the best way for me to get used to it and its limits. It may be double the horsepower of any car I've owned, but it will not be the end of me. I plan on driving that Zeta for a long time.

Were not all the same. But av-course now your going to post "I never said your all the same, Im just voicing this to the odd few who do dumb things at young age".... well guess what... they usually don't listen to anyone's advice anyways.... sorry to be "rude" in this post..... but all of us that will listen to the advice are usually capable of being proper anyways. |

I won't. He will not have a high HP car. I'm 31 and my new G8 blows every car I've ever had away in terms of HP. If I had something this powerful when I was a teen I might have killed myself. I came close enough with my Z28. |

I used to be Dragoneye...

I'll be 21/22 years old when I get the car. V8 all the way - watch somebody try to stop me.
![]() But, I realize that it will take some getting used to before I can fully realize it's potential. It would be foolish to do otherwise. The most powerful car I've ever driven is my Dad's '79 Z28 @ 170/250. The most nimble car I've ever driven is my Cobalt, at 150/150 and 3000 pounds. I've come closer to trouble in my Cobalt, then I ever have in the Z28... But anyways, I'll admit that *most* teenagers aren't ready, nor equipped to handle a car like the new Camaro if it's everthing GM is making out to be. But some are (me included ). And I think that those "some" people shouldn't get offended when the "most" tends to define our age-group.
