they were mad because I killed their power trip, it wasn't even intentional...part of my rights, I think it's crazy how many people let police take advantage of them but hey I guess I did pay the price....still I don't like how they treated me like a criminal

Simple fact is, law enforcement can pull you over at any point and time. There's always something they can say for pulling you over... Second point is, the officer asked you to roll down your window and you crack it?! What did you think this would get you? A pat on the and a chuckle... When an officer asks you to do something, do it. To add to that, your windows would have been rolled down and out of site, out of mind! They probably would have thought less about your tint and you would have been driving home ticketless, instead of trying to be a smart ass!

We all know there are some LEO's out there that over step their bounds sometime, but if you show respect and do what's asked, most of them will let you slide with a warning! Try doing their job sometime and see what kind of BS they have to deal within a regular basis!

Pay it or fix it and move on!

Ya man you gotta play the game or you'll always lose. They probably told you to roll the window down so they could see in the car and have a comfort level. Think about it from their perspective...they never know what they are walking up on when they pull someone over. And quite frankly...people are crazy these days. With your windows being tinted dark they don't know who is in the car, whether or not there are weapons, etc. Next time just do what they ask and be polite and you have a way better shot at getting off with a warning. Don't and well, you see what happens...they'll make you pay and you won't win trying to fight that one.

and by the way, the state may have decriminalized pot, but it's still a federal crime to use or posses it.
This. I roll down all of my windows every time I go through a local Border Patrol checkpoint. Did they profile you cuz you're a 22 year old kid? Nope, they profiled you because you're a 22 year old smart ass. Check your tude next time.

Having that pride of not letting them take advantage of you is great. It will also cost you money every time. If you can afford it all the power to you!
Still I maintain fight every ticket. Best way to beat a tint ticket is to google image your car, print out the picture, and send it in. Works every time. Just make sure it doesn't look like a picture you got offline and send it in with the paperwork you will get when you submit not guilty.

actually to turn all the way around was profiling, they had no judgment of my attitude, so that comment made 0 sense...and you know what I don't regret any of it...next time I'll roll down the window, but I wouldn't change anything I did

Screw this. You're upset about getting out of a car and being issued a ticket for tint you can't see through? (cops don't like not being able to see danger...They're are a lot of crazies out there, can you really blame them?) I have a story for you. I'm driving from Phoenix to San Antonio for training. I'm a Senior Airman in the USAF and I'm on orders. I've got all of my stuff with me...My military duffle bag, my uniforms are hanging in the truck, etc. I'm cruising right along down I10 coming into Texas. I'm 30 or 40 miles west of Ft. Stockton and a Texas Highway patrol officer flips across the median and pulls me over.

I was completely respectful. I had my cruise control set, so I didn't figure I was speeding. He asks the standard question and I said "No sir." He says "I clocked you doing 80 mph." Yes, sir, that was the speed I had my cruise control set at. "The speed limit changed to 65 about a mile back." I apologize sir, I didn't catch that.

Then he asks me where I'm headed. I explain I'm headed to training in San Antonio and on orders. He looks in the back of my truck, looks in the cab, and asks me to step out. I step out, he puts me in handcuffs, and makes me sit on the hood of his car. The partner that was with him said "What did you say to him?" Nothing...He asked where I was headed and I told him. The partners was kinda watching this guy and looks at me and says "I don't know what he's doing, are you sure?" The officer goes into his trunk, and gets a mirror. He checks underneath my truck all the way around. Opens my doors and checks behind my seats and in my glove box (without getting permission). He shuts the doors, comes back, releases the handcuffs gives me a ticket for 80 and a 65, and they leave.

I did everything right. I was 20, completely respectful, answered all questions truthfully, complied with all instructions, was an active duty member of the military, and I was STILL treated like a criminal.

You say yourself that 30% is the limit, but you had 15% put on anyway? You play with fire, you're bound to get burned. Take off the tint or be prepared for more tickets. It's your choice.

You openly admit to breaking the law with your tint.....What's your defense? Personal Responsibility goes a long way in the world. The fact that you knew your tint was illegal and still chose to go with it tells me you think you're above the law, so your attitude towards your ticket doesn't surprise me. You knew the law, you broke the law, you pay the consequences.

First of all, never consent to a search. Never . If they want to search that bad,get a warrant. I was hassled in September by a local yocal cop,had me on the side of the road for 20 minutes. Berated me for daring to have tinted windows in 'his' town. Berating me becuase my previous G6 had tinted windows. Ended up waiting 5 months for the ticket to be ready to be paid. All for a lousy $95. 00. What a joke.
