Ex Power Plant worker here... Did rotating 8 hour shifts for 18 years. It was pretty hard on me, as I had a lot of trouble trying to sleep during the day. Eventually got married, had kids... When it got to the point where the little ones were afraid if I wasn't in the house with them at night it was time to look for something else. I was glad something finally prodded me into looking for a day job!

Swinging from days to nights sucks. When I'm on nights I barely sleep. I'm praying to GOD that I get this day shift job thats open at my work.

Good luck, buddy, I can't swing back and forth. Gotta stay on one shift.

I work a 14/14 day rotation and I'm supposed to be working over the fest days. Swapped days with someone else to get off. Vacation is always an option too.

I'm on my 14 days off right now..

Same schedule I work as well. My 14 day hitch started on Wednesday. I will be off for the fest, but it is a little to far to travel. One of these years I want to make it too one.

Mine ended on Wed so we are exact opposite. Would be a great road trip for you.

It would be a great road trip, I have a ZL1 on order TPW for 3/24, hopefully get the car by the third week in April. Driving to Texas would be a great way to break her in.

I was a Power Plant Operator at SSES for ~15 years. Hated the shift rotation. Now, I'm a General Planner and I love it!!!
I get to virtually pick my own hours!
