Comma's act as stopping points in a sentence almost like periods do at the end of sentences. What you wrote was "Somebody had commented online that the guy says his AR is in .308, but that's wrong becasue ARs are only in .223 or 5.56."

Now take what you wrote and change the comma to a period and you have this which is the way it is to be read based on how you wrote the sentence "Somebody had commented online that the guy says his AR is in .308. But that's wrong becasue ARs are only in .223 or 5.56."

As you can see, based on how you wrote the sentence, you are saying that you were the one saying it is wrong, not the other person. We read the sentence correctly, you just wrote it incorrectly. I bet you'll be embarrassed when you realize that you just failed trying to call someone else out on their mistake when it was entirely your mistake to start with.

Remember, proper punctuation is the difference between "Helping your uncle jack, off a horse." and "Helping your uncle, jack off a horse".
I have never seen so much ownage in one thread. WOW.

Oh calm down. I can understand 100% what you're saying. However I'm not in a writer's class here, and that one sentence wasn't all I posted. The next sentence puts the statement you're complaining about in context. Read it for me. Reading them both should have tossed up a red flag that something wasn't right. Instead it was step up to the plate and take a swing. Thanks for the benefit of the doubt!

Ownage?

hey- aren't you in prison yet? Last I heard you were asking about what happens when you get convicted, because that was on your schedule. How'd that end up for you?

Another thing you didn't have to pay for. Don't worry. You'll get another chance, I bet. You can troll from a pen anyhow, so no difference really.

Reminds me when I was attending Waianae Elementary School on Oahu HI. The principal went hunting and brought back a wild boar that we had for lunch. This was before Hawaii became a state and I doubt it was real big.

Oh, damn. Redneck as I may be, I still found the most intriguing part of this thread to be the debate over reading composition vs. comprehension. The various calibers of the AR-15 (and a little history regarding the AR-10), the size of a giant freakin' parasitic mammal, a little bit o' prison talk, some blustering, hostility, defensiveness, punctuation placement, My uncle Jack, piles of bacon (mmmmmmmmmm.... bacon...)it's all here... on my Camaro forum!
