A while back I pulled up on a wreck at a decent sized intersection, 5 or 6 cops there. I didn't speak to them. But the youngest cop there was staring at my car the whole time. I might have gotten mad at him for drooling on it, but it was raining anyway.
Yeah, that video, I don't know. I don't like road blocks, but that definitely does not have to be that difficult, unless you are doing something illegal. I mean if you're not drunk, you're not carrying four pounds of weed, you didn't just steal the car you're in, it's not that big a deal to talk to a cop.

Re: the card - That's good - glad that your experience has been worth using the card. Re: rights - yes, I admitted that in my previous post. Caught me off guard and I didn't really realize it until it was over with. Live and learn!

Is your car tinted and if so what affect did that have? Of course it doesn't matter if your state allows it dark but mine allows only 70.

My car is tinted - previous owner did it. I have NO idea what level of tint is on it. I haven't had anyone say otherwise. The car salesman said "The windows are tinted...hope it's legal! haha!" - yeah you and me both!

So this video just shows some tool who has nothing better to do than set up a cam and go driving looking for check points so he can "flex some muscle"? And exactly what muscle did he flex? I've been through several check points. And in the time it took for the officer to read that card, its much easier to just answer "no" when they ask you if you've had something to drink. Everything the first officer did AFTER reading the card is exactly what he would have done even if the card was not presented in the first place...as shown by the second officer. This kid looks like hes just trying to impress people with his basic skills knowledge of the law.

After the second encounter in the video, the passenger asks "so what the **** is the point?" (of even having the checkpoint, since they were let through with no questions asked). The point is to condition individuals into giving up their rights, a little bit at a time. Another example is the TSA checkpoints at the airport. Do you really believe they are there to catch 'terrorists'? I think, in part, these checkpoints exist to get people used to being searched, conditioned to accept loss of freedom and increased governmental control ... just a little bit at a time. |

While you make such a compelling argument, there's no conspiracy theories here. You only have to be semi-aware of what is going on in this world to realize that personal privacy and individual freedoms are being attacked.
How do you get people to accept changes like this? Fear and conditioning, for starters. Look up and you already have someone here that is willing to give up some rights in order to feel more secure, and another just to save some time and hassle. Where's the line, though? You give up too many rights, you don't get to draw it. Yeah, I know I'm pushing it with the mods, and the irony of this thread being locked won't be lost on me. |
