Lincoln has it in them. They just fail at executing every single time. MKZ is a really really nice car. It's just not up to par with Cadillac or the Germans.

Chrysler, who knows what's going on there.

Lincoln has a ways to go before they can think of competing with the Germans. Caddilac only just got there in terms of product, but I imagine they are still a bit behind in terms of brand image and consideration in the luxury segment. Not too far, but perception always lags behind product. Lincoln feels much more like a Buick/Acura/Infinity type brand: lets rework an affordable car and call it luxury. I know it used to compete higher in the market, but thats the general feeling of the brand at the moment.

Chrysler ... I don't think the folks in charge at Chrysler-Fiat actually care about the Chrysler brand. Just another outlet for them to sell cars through, no passion about what the brand is or what it could be.

What amazes me is that Cadillac went from old people cars with basically nothing different than Lincoln, to a greatly improved product line with goals of beating Germans all over the battlefield.

Sure it took awhile but good job. Definitely an impressive turn around.

Dont get me wrong, im a ford guy and like me some awd tt lincoln...but I dont see how th3y sell any of 'em

But that may also frame the ATS V or V-sport when and if it comes out. Seems like they are setting up the ATS V to be what the "old" CTS V was for price.
The VSport is priced competitively when compare to the cars in its class:

I think Lincoln can do it, but Chrysler.... no. Wasn't there a rumor that they were going to kill off Dodge and just focus on Chrysler?

Yes I know it's competitive. But simply looking at Cadillac's lineup it is a HUGE jump from an ATS to a CTS.

Only 4 grand from a no-options ATS 3.6 to a no-options CTS 2.0T, little less than 10% of their MSRP. Thats not too bad.

When is the vBulletin, "like" feature going to be incorporated into this forum?

I am very glad to see Cadillac doing so well. It's amazing how far the Big Three have come since 2008. Bravo to all.

But an apples to apples comparison of a 2.0T ATS to a 2.0T CTS is 9 grand, or 25%. That's a big difference.

It's the same jump from a C class to an E class, and a 3 series to a 5 series.

I get that but I guess my concern is if Cadillac can pull it off.

Yep, I am more of a Ford fan, but Lincoln cant compete with Cadillac, let alone any of the germans, I would love to see a bad ass Lincoln, but they just cant seem to execute it.

That rumor was false and nothing ever came from it. What I see happening is Chrysler going upscale from Dodge, but not as high as Cadillac. Chrysler IMHO would, and should, tackle Buick. IMHO, Alfa will be the one to take on Caddy.

Lincoln is a tough one. they had a great start with the LS, then they let it stagnate and then just abandoned it altogether. In the early 2000s it was actully looking like Lincoln would be the one to run with the imports, but that quickly died and Cadillac quickly took the gaunlet, ran with it, and look where they are today.
