I don't have a problem paying $1k/mo if it's for a car I really want. My mother was with me when I went to the dealership. She gasped when she heard me tell the salesman I wanted to keep my payments around 1200/mo. LOL! She can't fathom a car payment that big because she's not a car person. Most of my friends thought I was crazy too. Oh well. Haha!

Rough times for alot of people. Side note though I know someone sits there complains their car is falling a part. Says they can't afford a new car but they spend $600 a month on cigarettes and weed ..

Sorry to steal the thread but does anyone know how much I should be paying for:
Z51 Package C7 Stingray + Black Wheels + Exhaust Package? (Around $57k MSRP? Am I right?) I plan on putting down around $6000 and financing for 66 - 72 months? (With hopefully around 2-4% Interest rate) I used those online payment calculators but they don't seem accurate to what the dealer was telling me (Those stealerships trying to confuse me with numbers). Thanks again! |

Excluding your State taxes & tags, with 6k down and if you finance $50,485... you're looking at approx $764.80 x 72 mos. (calculated rate used is 2.9% APR for this example). |

While there was a time when I had to finance my daily drivers, I have never financed a toy. Always just saved and scrimped til I had the cash. Now many hard years later and the Good Lords Blessing it is not quite as difficult as it used to be.
Credit is an easy trap to get into, many talk about their high return in investments as a reason to keep piling it on. My Dad always told me I could work for a bank or for myself, I have always chosen to for myself. I guess I would only caution people on spending tomorrows income now and paying interest to do so. Not knocking anyone, just giving unsolicited advice.

So a $50K loan will be about $1100/mo.
