i like the truck with those wheels and since i don't have a Z/28 i don't mind. i knew when i bought my ZL-1 with the black rims that since they said Camaro instead of ZL-1 like the polished rims that i would be soon to see them on other model Camaros. a year later BAM! there they were on the SS 1LE

different bolt patterns on the wheels... will never make production as you see it in the concept... if it makes production at all.

Pretty good looking ride. Sport trucks are never really big sellers though. If people want something sporty, they'll usually buy a car over a truck. Secondly, unless you live in a warm climate, why buy a truck that can't go in the snow? I'll wait to see how this unfolds. It does look sharp!

Seems like awfully pricey brakes for a truck but I'm sure some will buy this. Not for me. My truck is a truck. My ZL1 is what I drive for excitement.

Absolutely...a TON better. The real SS was always too tall and dorky looking...not to mention all the plastic cladding and fake ducts. The concept was sleek and sporty, the way an SS should be.

The brakes won't make production, but I think putting the standard brakes from the Camaro on it would make sense, at least the calipers anyway. They would either have to change the hubs to go to a 5 lug (probably wouldn't happen) or would have to go with different wheels as the standard Silverado has a 6 lug pattern. Why go the 6.2 liter truck motor though? Put the LS3 in it along with an option for the 6 speed manual.

The SS concept was pretty radical when you look at it, but this concept is much closer to production. When you break it down, all they did was put the Z28 wheels and brakes on it, which more than likely won't make it to production. The carbon fiber bits are cool but also probably wouldn't make production. They have the standard 6.2 liter truck motor in it, so no issue with production there. The lowered suspension and stabilizers are no issue for production as well as the body kit pieces (in plastic, not carbon fiber).

They could easily produce this truck and pretty quickly too. The big question is always going to be price. I would love to have this truck for my wife, she would love driving it but she would need an automatic as driving a manual is too hard on her back (back issues).

...I had a ten year love affair with an AWD Silverado SS. Far and away the best truck I ever owned.

Odd that having another vehicle turn to the Z/28 to enchance its own looks would put "some of the fire out". I believe quite the opposite.

The production version? Tall, cladded up, and clunky.
I think the Silverado SS concept looked like a van that someone hacked with a sawzall to make a pickup truck shape...and the actual SS looked alright...I just hated that it never came as a regular cab short bed.

I've been eyeing the new SS sedan a lot, with plans to buy one in a year or to, but if they build this truck, as a regular cab short bed, with the option of all wheel drive...I'll buy it in a heartbeat. I think the Z28 wheels look awesome on it.
